Air Canada partners in supply chain initiative to introduce biojet into airport shared fuel system
http://www.greencarcongress.com/2016/04 ... anada.html

Air Canada will participate in Canada’s Biojet Supply Chain Initiative (CBSCI), a three-year collaborative project with 14 stakeholder organizations to introduce 400,000 liters (106,000 gallons US) of sustainable aviation biofuel (biojet) into a shared fuel system at a yet-to-be-determined Canadian airport. . . .

The biojet used in this project will be sourced from commercially available, certifiably sustainable Canadian oleochemical feedstocks using the Hydroprocessed Esters and a Fatty Acids (HEFA) conversion process. . . .

Summit Ag Group breaks ground on $115M corn ethanol plant in Brazil
http://www.greencarcongress.com/2016/04 ... ummit.html

. . . The production facility is being built in Lucas do Rio Verde in Mato Grosso, an agricultural state in west central Brazil and the country’s largest producer of corn and soybeans.

Summit CEO Bruce Rastetter estimated that the plant, which will be the only dedicated corn ethanol plant in Brazil, will be completed in mid-2017. When fully operational it will produce 60 million gallons of ethanol annually for domestic markets.

In addition to helping to meet the country’s increasing demand for domestic ethanol, which can’t be met by the existing sugarcane ethanol production, the new corn ethanol production facility will introduce to the region valuable high fiber and high protein co-products, which will serve as high-value feed for the Brazilian livestock industry. . . .

New $30M ARPA-E program to produce renewable liquid fuels from renewable energy, air and water
http://www.greencarcongress.com/2016/04 ... efuel.html

. . . ARPA-E’s Renewable Energy to Fuels through Utilization of Energy-dense Liquids (REFUEL) program seeks to develop technologies that use renewable energy to convert air and water into Carbon Neutral Liquid Fuels (CNLF). The program is focused in two areas: (1) the synthesis of CNLFs using intermittent renewable energy sources and water and air (N2 and CO2) as the only chemical input streams; and (2) the conversion of CNLFs delivered to the end point to another form of energy (e.g. hydrogen or electricity). . . .

Why did you post this in a thread about biofuels?

Seems the most appropriate thread.

But is a sustainable liquid fuel. No other topic seemed better.

. . . Edeniq’s patented technology is commercially proven, with 29 of the company’s Cellunators installed in 6 US ethanol plants. Edeniq has also signed several license agreements for its Pathway technology, which integrates the mechanical Cellunator equipment with cellulase enzymes to convert corn kernel fiber to cellulosic ethanol. . . .

Headquartered in Cupertino, California, Aemetis owns and operates a 60-million gallon per year ethanol and 420,000-ton animal feed plant in California. Aemetis also owns and operates a 50-million gallon capacity renewable chemicals and advanced fuels production facility on the East Coast of India producing high quality, distilled biodiesel and refined glycerin for customers in Europe and Asia. . . .

EU Scraps Biofuel Targets:
EU laws requiring member states to use “at least 10%” renewable energy in transport will be scrapped after 2020, the European Commission confirmed, hoping to set aside a protracted controversy surrounding the environmental damage caused by biofuels.
