The backlash against governments subsidizing rich men's toys continues to grow and spread. Via ievs: http://insideevs.com/plug-in-hybrid-sports-cars-to-lose-subsidies-in-uk/

This month, some of the most generous government subsidies for plug-in hybrid cars in the UK will go away for vehicles over £60,000 ($84,918). Purchasers of these rather expensive plug-in hybrids will no longer be able to reap the benefits of a £5,000 ($7,077) discount.

The government changes will cut other incentives as well. Fully-electric grants will be reduced by £500 ($708), to a total of £4,500 ($6,369). Subsidies for PHEVs will be cut in half, reducing it to £2,500 ($3,538). . . .
High-end PHEVs affected include the i8, S500e, Panamera. I'm not sure if the XC90 T8 or X5 xDrive40e are above the threshold in the UK. IMO it's high time this nonsense was stopped, everywhere - anyone who can afford to spend that kind of money on a car has no need to be getting help from other people's money. The limit's still far too high, but is a move in the right direction.
