Yeah no. This study was debunked on Slashdot recently. It turns out the weight of the corresponding Ford mid-size ICEV sedan is within ONE POUND of the weight of a Nissan Leaf. No 25% weight penalty as claimed by the study's authors. Also, the Leaf's braking system uses the traction motor in reverse, so that much less brake pad particulate matter is produced. The study is pure smear propaganda from the fossil fuel greed heads. What a surprise.
