GCC: Study finds car dealerships pose significant barrier to EV adoption

This falls firmly in the "So what else is new?" department, but FWIW this study is from Scandinavia rather than the U.S.: http://www.greencarcongress.com/2018/05/20180525-derubens.html

A customer who does not come into the dealership already primed to buy an *EV is not going to buy one.
And in that sense the salespeople are just a mirror of their customers: in general ignorant of EVs, and happy to be so for now.

The flip side though is that a customer who is interested in EVs is not going to be persuaded against them by an ignorant/EV apathetic salesperson. My experience has been that dealerships try to have ONE salesperson who can handle EV interested customers. That is probably enough for now.
