A customer who does not come into the dealership already primed to buy an *EV is not going to buy one.
And in that sense the salespeople are just a mirror of their customers: in general ignorant of EVs, and happy to be so for now.
The flip side though is that a customer who is interested in EVs is not going to be persuaded against them by an ignorant/EV apathetic salesperson. My experience has been that dealerships try to have ONE salesperson who can handle EV interested customers. That is probably enough for now.
