FYI, if some of you with the older Clipper Creek mini-e chargers are interested, I found a seller who has the "J-1772" connector attached to a 25' cord... It's rather pricey at $399 opening bid ($450 BIN), $89 shipping (ouch) but it's there.

This same seller also has the J-1772 charger inlet (socket) as well, $125 opening bid, $137 BIN, $29.23 shipping.

keep your eyes on eBay for EVSE equipment soon as well, I would suspect.

Note: I also checked out their website, they have Prius conversion kits as well, and are located in NJ

That is a high and they are trying to take advantage of first sales. People with the MINI charger need the higher current j connector. Only one company makes the high current model and multiple will be making the lower current models.

I actually just spoke to the owner, he is "importing" the connectors from China, hence the high shipping charge... They are not available locally yet, and once they are, the prices will come down, and fast. As usual, Chinese mfrs are on top of this already, and the US mfrs are well behind.
Also, there is a note on the auction, if you need the 70A model, let him know, that is available as well... (probably for even more as there's more copper in it)

There are US manufacturers still ?

probably in name only (Clipper Creek? Aerovironment? Aker-Wade? Leviton? GE?)

probably not. I'm betting %99.9 of the J-1772 equipment (at least the connectors) will be mfr offshore, and "re-branded" as an american mfr's product

These companies buy the cords, as I mentioned the high current is licensed to be made by one company only I believe and the lower current cords are/will be made by multiple vendors.
