Hey guys,
Have car mfgs got together and standardized the plug? Just wondering. Think of the nightmare that is cell phones and digital camera chargers. Imagine that with cars. That won't make folks happy. So can the Volt and Leaf charge in the same spot? How bout the 220V household charager. Will that only work with the leaf? Would you need a new charger if you got a different brand of car?

Mike; the standard 220 volt plug would not work since the extra signals J1772 provides is really essential for battery management.

granted i think the issue is a bit overcomplicated but i think forwards compatibility is designed into it.

its like my Blu Ray player. it has USB and ethernet plug ins both labeled "future use reserved for software updates"
