. Yes, for level 1 and 2 AC charging, the charger is on-board the car. The external unit is NOT a charger, it's an EVSE.
Also, I'm guessing you aren't from the US. We don't use goofy terminology to talk about any charging rates below 10 kW as "fast". Generally, we only refer to CHAdeMO, CCS (SAE Combo aka Combo1, or Combo2 on Europe) or Tesla Superchargers as DC fast charging.
Nissan in the US manuals talks about trickle charging (12 amps at 120 volts), "normal" charging (240 volts from 16 to ~30 amps) and and quick charging (CHAdeMO). See https://imgur.com/a/4EZUR7w
