Add Olympia to the list of Puget Sound communities about to receive a batch of public charging stations in preparation for the next generation of electric vehicles.
South Sound wasn’t originally included in the nation’s largest-ever electric vehicle infrastructure program. Instead, it will be home to about 50 sites where owners of electric vehicles can charge their cars either for a small fee or as a service provided by retailers or others who decide to host the stations, said Rich Feldman, Pacific Northwest regional director for Eco totality North America.

The state Department of Licensing showed 46 electric vehicles were registered in Thurston County last year, and 1,103 were registered statewide.
