Voting is now open for Automotive PR's #tweetcharity, which will see the company give away £13,000 worth of free PR consultancy having passed 13,000 followers on Twitter.

Five charities in the motor industry have been shortlisted and will be put to the public vote on Twitter to decide the winner. They have been published on a Twitter list at bit.ly/tweet-charity and are listed below:

• AA Charitable Trust (represented by @AAPresident)
• BEN - Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent Fund (@BENMotorCharity)
• Coventry Transport Museum (@CovTM)
• Mission Motorsport (@MissionMotorspt)
• Zero Carbon World (@zerocarbonworld)

The voting for #tweetcharity will run entirely on Twitter. Any twitter user can vote, but each user only has one vote and any duplicate votes will not count. To count towards a charity’s total, voting tweets must include the shortlisted charity's username, @AutomotivePR's username and the #tweetcharity hashtag.

For example, valid voting tweets might say: "@AutomotivePR I vote for @[charity username] #tweetcharity" or "I vote for @[charity username] for @AutomotivePR's #tweetcharity".

Marco Ferrari, managing director of Automotive PR, said: "It was great that so many charities were nominated for #tweetcharity and our shortlist includes a diverse range of charities in the automotive sector, all of whom are doing great work and deserve their share of the spotlight."

Voting will close on Friday 7th June 2013 at 11:59pm and any votes cast after this point will not count.

#tweetcharity is being supported by motor industry news distribution services, Newspress and Headlineauto, as well as Sentiment Metrics, a social media analytics provider.
