Hi everyone, I recently purchased a new to me 2015 leaf. I wanted to log my baseline data here for future use and to add to the forum. I haven't had a chance to read through the whole thread so I'm not sure how this stacks up to others.

That seems fairly normal for your car. You may want to check the mfg date on the inside of your door panel to see how old the pack truly is. Also if you take a reading after doing a few consecutive drives below 50% and back up to 100%, you may get a more accurate measure. All in all you don't have much to worry about, especially living in Portland.

first thoughts; sounds like it sat idle a while. I have to think your numbers will improve a bit when you start using it on a regular basis. Where did the car come from?

Thanks for the replies. The mfg date is 11/14 and the car came from Georgia. I have done a handful of cycles below 50 miles remaining and recharged to nearly 100% before this data.

Are there any specific numbers that look low?

Most of my driving has been with eco mode off and in "B" mode. I haven't done enough reasearch to know how much difference driving habits make. I figure I might as well enjoy the ride but I'm far from flooring it.

guessing its just the heat the car lived in. you are close to losing your first capacity bar. Your driving habits will affect longevity as jackrabbit starts and other high current activities will shorten life but I think this is not enough to be a concern.

your bigger concern should be keeping car cool. Park in shade, etc.

On the flip side; if you live in hot climate now, you are probably in line for battery replacement a few years done the line which might sound good but will require you to deal with greatly reduced range.

The chemistry should have held up better than it did which leads me to believe the car was not maintained correctly.

Wild guesses, i.e. with about 58 Ahrs remaining the battery is in fairly good condition for age & mileage.

Do you have your Hx reading, as well? Can you also add yourself to http://www.electricvehiclewiki.com/Real_World_Battery_Capacity_Loss#one_bars?

Thanks for the info!

still trying to discern key indicators of pack health and it looks like your ahr is out of place . Hx bounces around a lot so being a bit low is not really that unusual. maybe weak cell balance?

His Ahr and Hx essentially the same as mine. Cells fine.

What is the value of your GIDs set at? I see by your signature your numbers have quite the range

You can set that? Didn't know. Whatever the default is I guess. 77.5 wH?

yes you can and the "default?" well good question. The original 80 watt-hours per GID was disputed because it inflated a lot of people's range.

If I set mine to 80 watt-hours I get 29.0 kwh available at full charge. Set to 77.5, I get 28.1 kwh available and so on. So you kinda want to set it so its range prediction matches what you actually get.

As for me? 77.5 seems pretty close but more importantly, its what I used on my previous 2 LEAFs so keeping it at 77.5 to make direct comparisons between this car and previous ones easier. The GID setting does not affect any other number that I am aware of

Lost first bar 11200 miles car built 1/15. 82% soc hx 59.
Did everything right kept it at 50% soc unless I needed it almost no highway. Kept covered but not in garage. My 2013 didn't lose a bar until i turned it in. This battery seems worse. Bought it near the end of 2/15 it was on the dealer floor in ac so I bought that one. Ah well. Guess I'll see how fast the next one drops and the next. Still have a year left on lease.

1st Bar dropped during the cooler months of Phoenix AZ

3/25/17 - 18766 miles, AHr 52; Batt Temp AVG 82; SOH 83%; 244 GIDS

2015 Degradation warranty expires 8/2019 and hoping to time a new battery by then. 2.5 years to go... So much for Lizard battery...

This data mimics mine. I purchased mine on 2/25/17. After driving for five weeks, I got leaf spy (I'm still learning the ropes...).

Mileage when purchased: 14,225

Date of reading: 4/1/2017
Mileage: 16,230
GIDS: 266
kWh: 20.6
SOC 97.4 %
SOH 91%
Hx: 85.96%
Aha: 56.53

Not sure about avg battery temp (still learning...forgive my noobness)...My car came from just north of Atlanta, and given what I think I know, I may be in for losing a bar soon. I drive 34 miles round trip when my I only have to go to work. Two or three times a week, I drive 90-110 round trip with some freebie L2 charging or quick charging to get my by. My car has been QC 14 times, four of them occurring since I became the owner.

Any insights or guesses to my situation regarding the battery are greatly appreciated! I charge to 100% using the timer so that the car doesn't sit very long before use. I can get to work (17 miles) with 75-80% SOC showing on my dash.
