I bought those HF chrome (plastic) horns to put one in my boat, I used just the high none one, its pretty loud!
My leaf is in sorry need a some real horns. If I had some money these guys have been making great horns for awhile:

guys seriously. this is your vehicles horn we are talking about. Are you really going to trust a HF unit that may work when you install it but maybe not when you need it??? We aren't taling a giant savings either. Spend the extra coin and but horns from a manufacturer that specializes in making (wait for it)....Horns lol

as mentioned here I am a big fan of HF for many things but I'm not going to risk it for my cars horns to save $10 or $20

I must admit the "aa ooo ga" horn would be hysterical!

Yes, seriously, items sold through Harbor Freight these days are of very good quality and durability. I have no problem at all recommending them.

I'm sure HF apprieciates your endorsement. I'll stick with a company that specializes in automotive horns and not electronic fly zappers and a gazillion other items.

Anybody that does the ah oo ga horn please post a video up here, would love to hear them!

It's just a horn. If it stops working, I'll replace it again.

I finally got around to installing the 2-tone Harbor Freight horn.

I don't think it's really much louder, but it at least sounds like a real car horn.

The tone is 1000x times better! I should have done this a year ago to my LEAF. The horn on my 2000 Civic sounded poor like the LEAF OEM one and died after 3 years, I upgraded to a pair of hi/lo note horns from my local Fleet Farm and it sound "like a real car horn" is what I told people :D

wow nice job, sounds like a grown ups car...

I have installed a WOLO "BADBOY" small two tone horn from harbor freight (39.99). It is easy to install (only one small horn) that replaces the tiny stock horn. The important part is getting a loud horn that needs no more than a 15 amp fuse. (The Leaf horn only comes with a puny 10 amp fuse, which I increased to a 15 amp fuse with no problems. I have had it in the car for 8 months, and is nice and loud. If it breaks, I will not replace it, and put in a stock electro-mechanical horn off of a Honda Odyssey (my other car) that is really loud and annoying. I like the Honda, but I am sure that many other brands of stock SUV or truck horns are loud. Those non-air compressor, electro-mechanic horns will last forever. Any questions about installing, please PM me.?

Well, AutoHaulersinc gets the last laugh. The cheap Harbor Freight horn stopped working a couple weeks ago.

This time I bought the Wolo (320-2T) Maxi Sound (under $20). They sound great, and they are much louder than the Harbor Freight horns. I think it sounds a bit louder than the stock horn in my Honda Odyssey, which has a pretty loud horn. Hopefully these will last.
