:D First EV!
Took delivery on 25-2-17 of a 2016 Leaf.
Brand new SL model.

I commute 32 miles door to door, but through the Cajon Pass.
The elevation change sure eats battery, but range is well within the Leaf's ability.

It has been a little bit of a learning curve, but learning more here.

Welcome and thanks for driving electric. Make sure to tell all your friends about your experience and how much better it is than a gas mobile.

True but if you were driving a ICE vehicle I'm sure your MPG would probably be 1/2 normal in that case and the advantage of a EV with regen is you kind of make up for it on the way down. Of course this is best if your battery is down a bit to be able to accept the charge. If your downhill is right away you might want to stop charging before full so you can take advantage of regen and save on your breaks.

Thanks jjeff and Reddy.

I agree with you jjeff.
I have been learning how to manage it better.
Little learning curve involved, but it has been pleasant so far.
My average has been around 3.3 miles per kWh.
That is up and back down.
Been working on trying to improve that overall.

If you live in California and remember the governor having a press conference after the rains and the fire truck fell off the freeway. I pass that spot twice a day in my little leaf.

Trying to convince others to make the switch.
