Hello,
I am thinking of buying out my leaf lease. I am in CA. What are the typical fees associated with lease buyout. I know about the ones listed below. Is that all or there is more ? Do they change from region or the vehicle the deal is signed ?

1. The tax - based on sale price agreed
2. Registration fees 15$
3. Doc Fee $80
4. Salex tax on doc fee $6
5. EVR - $29

anything else ?

Thanks very much in advance,

Assuming this is done at or near lease-end, your registration fee is going to be a lot more than $15, particularly if it's done after the new gas tax hike takes effect. That legislation includes a flat $100 yearly fee for EVs. The $15 you mention is just to put the car in your name only.

https://www.dmv.ca.gov/wasapp/FeeCalculatorWeb/usedVehicleForm.do is the website for calculating the approximate registration fee when you purchase the car from NMAC.

I believe there is a $395 ($595?) buyout fee that is sometimes waived.
On my lease contract, it mentioned the purchase fee was $300.

OP, make sure you're not overpaying for buying out your car.

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/cta?auto_make_model=nissan+leaf&sort=priceasc&min_auto_year=2013&max_auto_year=2014 can give you an idea. Change the model to whatever matches yours/what you'd like.

When I was near lease end in July 2015, Nissan was offering $6500 off buyout (http://insideevs.com/nissan-announces-up-to-7000-credit-for-buying-your-leased-leaf/) on my '13 SV w/both packages. Residual was a nutty $20,601. So - $6500 + $300 = $14,401. I could buy an identically equipped used Leaf of about the same age and mileage for $11K to $11.5K back then. No thanks.

Back the car went and I bought a used '13 Leaf SV w/premium only for $9,325 + tax and license (which was a lot more than $15).

Side note: If you're in PG&E-land, make sure you claim http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=23235 while it's still registered to you.
