I started looking at buying a used Leaf S about a year ago, but I live in an area (SE Wisconsin) where you never see Leaf's in the wild and dealerships rarely have any used ones for sale, or ask outrageous prices when they do. I had my sights on buying one from Carvana, but wanted to wait until they entered the market so I could get free shipping. Their prices were appealing (sub $10k for a '15 S), so I figured it was just a matter of time. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and lo and behold they announced they were entering the Chicago market, which made me eligible for free shipping since I live within 100 miles of Chicago. Unfortunately, this is also the same time they issued their IPO, and almost overnight their prices for Leaf's (and I'm sure every other car) have skyrocketed up. The cheapest '15 S is now $12.5k with most $13k or more. I'm going to have to make a decision soon, and unfortunately the Leaf is probably no longer an option.

If you can wait a few more months, the inevitable drop in Bolt leases and prices will depress the market for used Leafs. When Leaf 2 comes out, supposedly at the same MSRP as the current Leaf, then Leaf 1 prices should plummet.

Hi from up in Green Bay, I have been watching for used Leaf's on cars.com for our niece and have seen a few good ones, but none that really jumped out at me, a lot of them were Milwaukee and Madison. It's just another place to watch. But I would think there would be lots of them from Chicago, but I didn't look that far.

To OP, it's likely too far away for you, but this Leaf in Battlecreek is in your price range:

It's an S trim, with QC package. That's nice to have, even if you don't ever DCQC, because is includes the 6.6 kW onboard charger so that L2 charging is 2X as fast.

A few here too: http://www.omegaautosports.com/inventory.aspx?mk=Nissan&cursort=asc&ordby=model

Again, I realize these might be too far away for you to consider.
