I've been tracking battery stats of my 2014 S and I wanted share the result. It was manufactured in Feb 2014 and was leased on May 23 2014. I bought out the lease a few months ago.

I didn't get LeafSpy until 2 months after the lease. Ahr was around 62 then and it is now bouncing between 57 and 58. I've been losing ~1.5 Ahr/year, which is better than I first feared considering it gets quite hot (often gets over 90F) during summer months here. I'll probably lose my first bar next summer or fall. The trend is tracking LEAF battery degradation model quite nicely so I have another 6-7 years before I lose 4 bars (no warranty replacement), which is acceptable based on my driving pattern.

Thanks for the stats Jamieo. My 2014 SV with no QC was also manufactured in January. Purchased in March 2017 with 8,713 miles, Leafspy showed 100% SOH, 104.28% HX, 67.36 AHr with 324 charges.

A few weeks later at 8,823 miles:
97% SOH, 63.67 AHr, 97.73% Hx

A weeks later, 4/12/17, at 9,175, miles it dropped to:
92% SOH, 60.8 AHr, 93.41% Hx.

As of 10,271 miles the car has bounced between 91-93% SOH.

I wondered if the battery degradation was mostly time related and I purchased the car just before it fell. I'd be happy if it stayed in the 12-bar range for a few more years.

Thanks for the information ... it will be interesting to see how our tow cars compare over a long period of time!

Question from a newbie? Are all these stats taken at 100% charge? If not, should they be?

Some are, some are not. The numbers I posed today were after I'd arrived at work. Since they represent the overall health of the battery, the SOC should not matter that much.

So, basically no degradation in the past 2 years and 27000 miles ? That's great news. I'm in the process of buying a used 2014 with about 36000 miles. It's supposed to have all 12 bars left...

There's almost no information on Leaf MY 2014 compared to the other MY. I'm glad to at least have one "data point" as a reference.

You will want to assume that the 12th bar will drop as you drive off the lot. Negotiate as appropriate.
