When will Nissan provide battery upgrade program?

Doesn't this imply that anyone purchasing a replacement battery for their 2011-2015 LEAF will get a 30kwh battery?

Perhaps, but it also may mean that it will be limited to 24 Kwh by software...
Unlikely.

IMO, only Tesla could come up with an idea that foolish.

Here's the repot on Nissan dropping the 24 kWh option:

Nissan Leaf S quietly gets 30-kwh battery upgrade, higher price

...Should a customer desire a 2016 Leaf S with a 24-kwh battery, they can visit [the Nissan USA website] to locate a vehicle or find a dealership that will assist...
I suspect Nissan will continue to produce more 24 kWh packs for the expected future warrantee replacements. and also for the tiny number they expect to sell.

Since Nissan altered the LBC to show lower Gid/capacity bar loss early in 2013, the number of pack replacements under the warrantee will probably also drop to very small number in ~18 months, after the five-year-nine bar-warrantee for LEAFs till using the 2011- (early) 2013 LBC's capacity (under) estimates expires.

As to whether Nissan will ever sell 24 kWh LEAF owners a 30 kWh upgrade, the Nissan Rep. at last Month BayLEAF's event very clearly said no (yes, I was the loud/obnoxious guy who pushed him on that and several other questions).

Of course, that may not be the last word.

NG-B followed up with Nissan, and reports the possibility of good news on making the upgrade sometime in the future:

..While Nissan was unable to give an official statement at this time, we were told that while older generation LEAFs are currently unable to be retrofitted with the new 30 kWh battery pack, Nissan plans to “continue to evaluate the ability to make this option available for our customers.”

In other words, while it’s not a top priority for the automaker right now, Nissan is also not closing the door on older LEAF customers...

Hello everyone! Bringing the old topic back. New user here.

There is a 3rd party battery refurbisher, who offers a double battery option. For $6500 you get a second 24 kWh battery (refurbished) stacked on top of the 1st battery. So you lose a little trunk space, but you get double the range. You get 48 kWh, which should be close to 180 miles, if driven lightly?
They're called Hybrid Industries, I believe. California - based.

Not trying to advertise, just looking into battery upgrade options myself. Looking to buy a used Leaf, since so many of them are out there for super cheap (people switching to Bolt?)

Ok. Can you point us to any customers who have successfully gotten such an upgrade? Any actual photos and/or videos of the completed work (e.g. dash displays when fully charged, Leaf Spy screens), range test results, the behavior when charging (including charging power graph), discharging, what to do in the event of a problem, safety procedures?

We already had a thread on that sketchy company at http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=460259. I easily discovered via https://www.tineye.com/ and https://images.google.com/ that many of the pictures there were lifted from other random sites:
http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=460259#p460259
http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=460337#p460337

The above darn "company" rears its head on various Leaf Facebook groups every few months, it seems. Someone stumbles across them. When asked the same questions and pointed to the same lifted pictures, the conversation usually dies. And, of course, nobody in any of threads where it surfaces can point to a single success story w/this supposed upgrade.

I will be MUCH less skeptical once we see at least a few examples of what I'd asked for.

I saw a youtube video of what he is talking about, they showed the battery in the upgraded car and you had to switch between each pack. They showed it all in a uncut video. I don't recall how it worked or was interested in it because I knew what my purchase was going to do and was happy with anything above 30miles per charge.

Read about this a while back too. All I needed to see was the image of the installation with the tupperware container electronics cover to scare me away:
