"First Production" is one of the three options they've been listing for months on the delivery estimator.

Got my : "Your Model 3 is Ready to Order" email just now. "Delivery in 4 weeks" (~7 year anniversary of my LEAF arrival).

The Hype rarely measures up to reality and yeah that means holidays are sometimes somewhat of a let down, but that is not the case here!

I also configured my 3 last Wednesday in Red with all options. They say delivery is in 4 weeks, so I'm hopeful for a great Holiday this year...

All options ordered except self-driving and larger wheels.

Blue.

Model 3 number two will be white.

Nope, but the 3 was the only BEV that did make it to the final four:

And in fact, the Accord is probably a much more serious competitors to the model 3 as a potential mass-market vehicle, than the GIULIA, the Stinger, or the BMW model 3.

Speaking of which, the Stinger (highly-optioned) is actually the most direct competitor to the model 3 in size and performance, at considerably lower cost, and with the additional utility of a proper GT hatch.

Now if Kia would only make the same efforts in a BEV...

It sounds like Kia is finally learning how to make a good handling car, after first learning how to make a good car. Nice looking too, even if I don't care for their grills. I generally prefer the looks of their Hyundai siblings.

But, an Alfa without a stick? No. Just no. I don't care how good the paddle shifters are, it's still an automatic. One of the joys of driving a good handling car with decent performance is the melding of the driver and the machine in perfect coordination. Automatics with paddle shifters have taken over F1 for good reason, but that doesn't mean a car meant to be driven fast for pleasure should have one. Looks wise, it's nice. When I was a kid a friend's father had a 1600 Giulia Sprint GT coupe, and I still think the 1600/1750/2000 coupes were some of the best looking cars ever designed. They looked like they were sitting back a bit on their haunches as if they were accelerating even when stationary:

InsideEVs (https://insideevs.com/) reports today 712 M3 YTD deliveries. As usual for Tesla numbers from InsideEVs, the most likely
actual is closer to 800-900. Still though, Tesla will fall far short for the 2017 M3 guidance, e.g. "5K per week by the end of 2017",

now for the imaginary "semi" to obtain needed cash flow in the form of reservations, i.e. why even produce & deliver unprofitable M3s

Saw my 2nd Model 3 in the wild a couple of days ago, so deliveries appear to be picking up steam.

I have seen two Model 3s in the wild this weekend, a dark grey one exiting with me off the 405 on Friday night and I just saw a red one on the 110/105 interchange. Both had the base wheels and “zero emissions” Tesla new delivery tags. Beautiful cars and I can’t wait for mine.

That makes five I’ve seen in total but two in the last three days caught me off guard. The ramp seems to be accelerating.

I'd not seen any in the wild until this week. Saw a blue one on Wednesday on my morning commute, and then a grey one on Thursday on the commute. They are starting to get out it seems.
