Hi,

I just purchased a Flo LVL 2 charger, and i always get a noise when it's charged about 75% or more. The hood gets hot, and the noise seems to come from near the radiator pipes.

Somebody else had the same exact issue on youtube. Here's the link (it's not me, but the noise is exactly the same).

It's a 2017 Nissan Leaf.

Any insights would be super appreciated ! I've always before charged with a LVL 1 so I never heard anything... Is this normal for a Lvl 2 charger?

Thx...

That sounds like the coolant pump is either running dry (low coolant or blockage) or has a mechanical problem. How is your coolant level?

Check the coolant hose flow by a light squeeze , you can feel the flow through your fingers.
What was the ambient temp during charging?

Hi,

Thank you very much for replying. The ambient temperature is quite high. I would say around 30C (86F).

To make a long story short the car went to the dealer on 2 occasions and couln't reproduce the problem. I specifically asked on the second time to have it charge longer, which i saw from my phone it went from 40% to 90%, again without being able to reproduce the problem. Not sure what's going on here...

I'll do a small squeeze tonight as suggested tonight get back to you guys with an update.

Thx !!

So...

I did plug it in, and I was able to hear the noise at 91% charge. I've decided to do my own video this time to really show the actual noise.

I checked the coolant liquid and it's over the minimum. I did squeeze the coolant tube a bit and i was able to feel the liquid moving in there.

Any suggestions?

Thx !!
