    Funny -- I had exactly the opposite problem. I bought the replacement inner tie rod from O'Reilly's and it was the coarser thread and didn't fit. Instead, I needed to use the Dorman part (finer thread). 2012 Leaf.

    Very helpful, thanks!! I'm left wondering, though, how the heck one gets the outer tie rod out. There seems to be no way to access the inner connection point with a wrench.
