    Official California PG&E Thread

I think a good compromise for a new E9A, provided reasonable rates, would be to drop the tiers for off-peak only. Then we would not get penalized with exorbitant rates for adding an electric car to the household as long as we charged it at night.

2011 Tokyo Motor Show is Underway

Interesting about the Toyota FT-EV III - finally another major EV that places the charge port(s) in the front like the LEAF. When they were at it they copied the blue color as well!

Nissan Engineering Team Visit Dec. 3rd: Recap

Likes: 1. 100% electric = never needs gas, less maintenance, no exhaust fumes, smooth and quiet 2. Right sized for an everyday driver, comfortable for the whole family, and packs a Costco haul 3. High tech Could be improved: 1. Double the range to 150 freeway miles - would handle those weekend...

Can you apply for Ecotality EV Project after buying a Leaf?

I would be happy if someone could describe the method for bypassing Nissan and joining the EV project. Signing up on the EV project website did not help me to get offered to take the survey.

Can you apply for Ecotality EV Project after buying a Leaf?

Nissan did not allow me to apply for the EV project when it launched in the Bay Area, which was a few weeks after I took delivery. The only reason given was that I had already taken delivery. This process may of course not be consistent.

I thought US had a power grid...

There is a limit to how much power can be transferred to other areas due to congestion of the power lines (limited capacity).

So, owners what range are you getting ?

Solarman - I took 19th Ave to 280 and stayed on 280 down to Los Altos. Hilly all the way. I would consider just staying on 101 to get the flattest route. Depending on your destination you could also go to 880 instead of over GG. Keep a cushion of remaining range as compared to remaining distance...

So, owners what range are you getting ?

solarman - you can make it home if you drive carefully, limiting your power usage. Similarly I drove mine home 80 miles from Petaluma and came home with 2 bars and 19 miles indicated on the guess-o-meter. I used 101 and 280, but would recommend you to stay on 101 which is flatter, and you will...

So, owners what range are you getting ?

I went for an 80 mile round trip, mostly flat freeway where I had the Cruise control at 60 mph. The traffic slowed and there were some hills for a few miles (going into the city). I came back with 2 bars and 14 miles indicated left (not upgraded sw). Eco mode, no A/C, no anxiety.

    NIssan Quality, Not Impressed

After reading this thread yesterday I went over my LEAF carefully today, flashlight and wrench in hand. I did not take anything apart but checked the accessible areas, including under the car, testing nuts and bolts, and pullling on cables etc. I could not find anything that was loose or...
