For anyone looking at this old thread:
the trickle chargers supplied with newer cars are easier to upgrade: just change the plug end to NEMA 6-15, and put in a NEMA 6-20 plug on your wall. Done. Internally they all universal power supplies that are just fine with 220V.
I just filed a report at

On the 2011 Leaf passenger Airbag seat sensor. For prior model years, Nissan made the seat cushion available as a separate part. Because they don't for the Leaf, the repair is more expensive...

I've got a 2011 Leaf with the same problem: the airbag light is on as if there's a child seat fitted, but there's not.
The quote was $4500 for a repair.
Could anyone help with a proper parts diagram? Where are the sensors, what are the part numbers?
The parts appear similar to a 2009 Nissan...

June 7, 2020 — Nissan LEAF "passenger airbag off" warnings caused federal safety regulators to open an investigation in 2019, but the investigation is now closed after the government didn't find...
Update: a battery charger has fixed the problem. The range of symptoms when the battery is low is huge: my favorite is will literally kick back the brake pedal when I'm trying to start it. Now I recognize the issue, and can throw a charger on.
I'm disappointed the solar panel apparently can't...
I have it plugged in on a timer, set to the Duck Curve.
Is it different if the car is "charging" as opposed by "blocked by the timer"?
(The car is set to charge 9am-4pm, to take advantage of the excess solar in California. The 2011 Leaf is also the higher end trim with the solar panel that...
This might be it. Open circuit voltage is 11.83, at idle.
Battery installed 2/2018
We've had problems in the past, as we mostly bicycle, so the car sits charging for days. This leaf apparently has a stupid design decision that the 12V battery only charges when driving, not when, um, charging...
Situation:
6 bar 2011 Nissan Leaf.
Works fine for in town trips.
Recently it sometimes won't start. If I get in and press the brake and start, the brake pedal will rather firmly "kick back". I'll hold it in prior to pressing the power button, and my leg will be literally pushed back.
The...
Not ignored at all. The internal resistance of the battery goes up, sure.
The wall charger still works just fine. The leaf is not even charging at that Level 2 rate when energy is available.
The car is "useful", and regularly "used".
Is there anything that would prevent Nissan from having at least allowed charging at 3.3kW, under regen. Is there any reason it seems to be zero, on degraded packs? Lack of charging of course leads to additional deep cycling of the battery...
Tor's kit for PTC heater disable is no longer available:
Is there an equivalent easy plug heater disable switch for the 2011 and 2012 leaf? Is there a way to retrofit a heat pump to older models?
