    Hi Red, Are you still driving your Leaf? If I recall, you and I got ours within a day or two of each other back in 2011. Almost to year 7 here! I've only lost 2 bars on the gauge. How is yours holding up?

    How Many Leaf Owners Charge Solely on 120V?

    I've been charging on L1 only for about 7 months. My commute is under 20 miles per day so no problems with range. I set the timer to begin charging at midnight so the car can charge when electric rates are very cheap. I know that L2 is more efficient charging, but I've been wondering if...

    You are correct, of course, on the true cost of the vehicle. But when people compare the cost of cars, they generally do not add in costs like destination charges and sales tax. They compare the base vehicle price only, such as those prices advertised in the paper or TV. So when giving a very...

    BTW, the cost of a Leaf is well under $29K with the federal and state rebates when comparing apples to apples (base vehicle price only). More like $26K for an SL. And with real time charging, (assuming ComEd will hook you up :roll: ) you can easily get the cost of driving under 2 cents/mile.

    Check out the comments on the Trib article. Outside of the usual misinformation about EVs, there is shock at the pricing for the L3 chargers, as there should be. There are two uses for L3 charging - to extend the range of your vehicle for long trips and for emergencies when you feel you can't...

    100 Mile Club, 200 km, 300 km, 200 Mile Club (24kWh LEAF)

    No HVAC at all as the temps were great for this time of year. Felt like summer for those of us in Chicago. About 20 miles was done on the highway in bumper-to-bumper rush hour traffic averaging 10-15mph. My Leaf actually tends to do quite well in this kind of traffic. The rest was on surface...

    Hey guys. I hit 100 miles on a single charge today, even with our very windy, albeit warm, weather. http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=7022&p=180237#p180237" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    I hit 100 miles here in Chicago today. I didn't set out to do it, especially considering I had to drive 50 miles of that at normal highway speeds (55-60mph). I would have made better notes on when LBW and VLBW came across, but as I said, I wasn't anticipating hitting 100 miles today. Ambient...

    I haven't had the update yet (having it done tomorrow), but I've seen a dramatic improvement in efficiency the last few days. On my normal commute to work in the morning the car displayed 6.3 miles/kwh! I've been generally running around 4.5 for most of the winter, so this is a huge jump. I...

    Thanks for the update from 350Green. I've signed up for a card as well. I love your license plate frame.

    Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I seem to be getting more looks at the car in the last 24 hours since the article came out in the Tribune. Anyone else notice this?

    I think Carwings was down for most of the day yesterday, so that certainly would affect its functionality (if you had a Leaf). ;) Checking the General Discussion thread, it looks like there were problems with both Carwings and GreenCharge. Related? Perhaps. If it could calculate my energy...

    I have a black SL, but with EL plates. I saw a Leaf on the road in L.A. a couple of weeks ago, but have yet to see one here in Illinois. A report came out from Nissan with color popularity and black was the least popular. I have to say I'm a little surprised.

    I was thinking about getting the GreenCharge app as well. Can it incorporate the real time electricity costs from ComEd, or does it just use the standard average rate? The realtime metering from ComEd is great. Take a look at the prices for electricity between midnight and 6am today - the...
