My payment wet up with the i3 w/ rex.
I put money down on the Leaf and paid $212/mo.
I put 0$ and pay $380/mo with my 2014 Rex (got it in 2015 so timing played a role)
The very same week I got the i3 I had 2 Nissan dealers (Lansing & Ann Arbor) quote me $0 on a 2015 Leaf and the best price...
I made the leap from 2013 Leaf SV to 2014 BMW i3 REX in January 2015.
Nothing wrong with the Leaf. I loved it, it was my first EV, I learned a lot about EV's and what my wants/needs are as a driver; I have fond memories of my Leaf. When I got into my 2013 Leaf I was hopeful that by 2015 the...
They found the issue! Looks like it needed a new PDM (Power Distribution Module). After a quick search it looks like this is a common issue with the 2013 models.
I did not have any software updates, I think if I got the update this may not have happened. The reason I didnt get the update...
This weekend I discovered that my 2013 leave SV with 20,000 miles wont charge anymore :( After nearly two years of care free driving I was bummed.
I charge at home with the L1 EVSE that came with the car. Saturday I ran errands and came home with 30%, plugged it in, and went inside. Sunday...
Congrats on your new Leaf!
Regarding your 77mile 1-way trip; it should be doable.
Depending on how much time you want to spend at your destination you may only need your L1 charger. I make a similar distance trip several times a year - my parents house. I usually arrive early evening, plug...
I called around my area for the Focus EV about a month ago. The best lease price I could get on the phone was $380/month. At that price I guess I just want more capability, range, performance, luxury, something.
Joking aside this thread did get me thinking about the Soul EV and other EV's in general.
Even though I knew they are not available in my area I still called around.... its true, no Soul EV unless I want to buy it far far away. So like a Model S... it might as well be fiction for me.
I am...
One of the better written 'moving on' posts yet! Finally someone who is generally satisfied with the LeaF and appreciates it for what it is.
There is nothing wrong with moving onto something different or 'better'... what I dislike is the trash talk on the way out. People move from car to car...
Yup, the Leaf handles fine in winter. The only adjustment I had to make was to not press the pedal too hard. All of that instant power an torque makes the wheels spin. Otherwise its like any other FWD car of similar size and clearance. Also, I dont use 'winter' tires. I am sure they would help...
Good for you ILETRIC I am glad you are happy with your new EV.
My wife recently said goodbye to her ICE Kia and hello to a new ICE Nissan.
The only difference is she didnt write a post in the internets about it....
To each their own.
I agree, the amount of charging infastructure in my state leaves much to be desired. I see myself as an EV ambassadar in my community but EV's a much arder 'sell' because I cant drive across the state, or even between two large cities in a reasonable amount of time. I think my position in EV...
