I am biased. I have the HCS-40. I hardwired mine in the garage, and the install could not have been more simple. The company is super friendly and helpful, the unit is made in the USA and it just works.
Our Costco is so busy on the weekend and at night unless the chargers were at the far end of the parking lot or way in the back, there is no way you would find a non-iced spot. There would literally have to be a Costco employee policing the spots to keep them from being ICEd.
Thank you for the information - I have 14 panels and all of my micro inverters are M215s - all green (active) and seem to be healthy from a power standpoint.
To me it's a good time to lease not buy - yet. Let the first "next-gen" BEVs get the kinks worked out over the next few years. When you come off lease re-evaluate the market.
The only way this could possibly be an issue for the loan officer is if you extend your lease past your turn-in date. If you turn in the car early your out a car - sounds really silly
At 3500 miles I doubt the battery would have been replaced and it looks perfectly reasonable to have 12 bars. My 2014 has 4500 miles and has 12 bars as well. That being said it never hurts to check using LeafSpy. It would be interesting to see when it was manufactured and when the original...
I have the car programmed to unlock when put into Park. Don't know if that is the default or if I had to program it with LeafSpy Pro. Either way I just hit the park button after I stop - the doors unlock - put it back into drive - they lock again. Don't have to fumble around trying to find...
The Leaf gets the white stickers - they have not run out. The plugin hybrid get green stickers - the next batch of those start Jan 1, 2015

Good to know about the S - why Nissan does that I don't know. Crazy.
Here is what typical charge cycle looks like:
The car draws as much as it can (16A in your case) and then tails off and then balances the battery (the squiggles at the end of the charge).
No such thing as "overcharging"...
My SL will pull 27.5 Amps on my Clipper Creek HCS-40 so I am not sure where you heard that 16A is the max. Maybe for level 1, but certainly not at Level 2.
Anyway I love the Clipper Creek HCS-40, but it is nothing fancy - no timers or readouts, just good old USA made and supported EVSE...
You may have already found it, but Clipper Creek does sell a stand alone pedestal. (It was on page 5 of the "In the parking lot" section)

After you "collect" your car you could check the fault codes using Leaf Spy Pro, an Android phone/tablet and an ODB2 bluetooth device. See topic here: http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=14285" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
