    Headlights... LEDs vs. Halogens

LOL.. none. 35w + ballast inefficiency per side. 40w vs 55w or so. Don't sweat little stuff

    Headlights... LEDs vs. Halogens

Aftermarket LED kits don't have enough throw. Use a good 4500K HID kit.

    Leaf Spy Lite

I believe so, except 4 figures. Android has a lite version. Would use it primarily to test a used Leaf before buying.

Consumer Reports used cars to avoid: 2013 LEAF

I wonder if Consumer Reports has written anything about why they think the '11 and '13 are bad years for the Leaf, what happened in their vehicles to have them come to that conclusion.

Consumer Reports used cars to avoid: 2013 LEAF

I don't understand why Consumer Reports thinks that the '11 Leaf has problems with the drive system, electrical system and climate system. The '12 Leaf has no bad marks and the '13 has a bad mark in the climate system (CR page screenshot http://imgur.com/0PTbd96) . The 2011-2012 Leafs has a...

CREE headlights on a 2013 SV - problem

How good is the output? Comparable to a 35w HID kit do you think or close to it? Heat issues with both LEDs on both bulbs being on at once for some time? Because, I think each of the 2 LEDs on each bulb takes 25 watts or so (I read this on an Ebay listing).

    2013 heat pump data

I just got off the phone from somebody at Nissan regional consumer affairs and they don't know how or if the car can defrost the evaporator coil automatically by running the heatpump in AC mode for a while with the fan off (needed for long cold humid weather trips bouncing off fast chargers)...

    2013 heat pump data

That sounds kind of crazy. I'll search around later and if I find info about that I'll post here. EIDT: Anybody know how the Leaf and other heatpump EVs defrost the evaporator radiator (cold side, by the front grille)? With normal household heatpumps the heatpump turns into an air conditioner...

    2013 heat pump data

1KW of consumption isn't that bad if you think of the heatpump possibly outputting 15,000 BTUs or so into the cabin. Assuming 17 SEER efficiency (pretty efficient but not particularly high-end), 15,000 BTU /17 SEER= 882 watts which leaves 118 for the cabin fan and radiator fan. Those numbers are...

    2013 heat pump data

I wonder how it would keep up in say a 15 degree Fahrenheit environment, temperature at the vents. I'm guessing with the 3KW value that the resistive heater was supplementing for a few minutes, it's hard to believe a car heatpump would take that much. More realistic that 1.5KW is the power it...

    Headlights... LEDs vs. Halogens

If you go with the regular Halogen high and low beams, then you could replace the stock bulbs with high end Halogens, though they have a shorter lifetime and more expensive. Also, you could put in aftermarket 55w HID kits for the low and or high beams if you wish, with a lifetime warranty...

High beam 55W HID conversion feasible ?

DDM tuning is usually a good bet with their lifetime warranty a decent prices. I mean you could go cheaper with Ebay but I wouldn't, with the risk that the "55w"ballasts could be simply relabeled 35w ones. The Retrofit Source is another good one, but they are very expensive and only offer an 18...

High beam 55W HID conversion feasible ?

Bump. Anyone try a 55w aftermarket HID kit in their high beam headlight? I know they take a few seconds to get bright but after that their lumen output is amazing, so the question is how far does the light throw.

How is the 12V battery recharged? Max amperage?

Heh thanks for the response gregoryjward. Good info
