HOW TO: Make the VSP (noisemaker) button default to off

I'd stop selling the microswitch version because I couldn't source its unique switch. But now the new version is much easier to install. link It's just a sticker button you place anywhere flat. Paper thin wires you could fish it thru cracks. I bet there are some who just don't want to drop the...

Hacking the VSP Box (Noise Maker)

This one is similar to what Msportronics except that you have to DIY. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Nissan-Leaf-VSP-Harness-Mod Her's what I think happened. Msportronics had to strip 54 wires, then pin crimp 54 microscopic pins. A total of 108 actions each. Lots of time involved. Artist /...

HOW TO: Make the VSP (noisemaker) button default to off

Thanks Ben. Great to hear from a buyer. Sorry for the typo. Typo fixed, thanks. It illuminates the VSP warning light only when the ignition is on. It drains very little energy. It seems to be an important feature because it's pretty dark after sunset. My passenger and I now have an easier...

HOW TO: Make the VSP (noisemaker) button default to off

I don't have an answer to that but you can. I've check the service manual for the 2014 and it should work. For the 2016, if you don't mind opening the VSP box then read the prints on the circuit board then you can find out. On pin 3 and 5 it should say: 3 PUSH_SW and 5 VSP_OFF_SW for this...

HOW TO: Make the VSP (noisemaker) button default to off

If you set the "default to off switch" to "on," then, like Mr Garsh says, the car always turns the VSP on when it is first started. If set it to "off" then it won't play the VSP upon startup. Yes, you'll have to get the "default to off switch" for it to remember to turn off at startup.

HOW TO: Make the VSP (noisemaker) button default to off

    * . Your welcome. Here are some update information. WIRE SIZES: Make sure the lead (wires) are 18 gauge or bigger. Or something that doesn't burn with a 10-Amp load. Small wires will burn, large wires will pop the fuse. Secondly, the wires have to be wrapped with electrical tape from head...

No sound when car starts nor when it's on reverse!

Sure, I'd be happy to share how I did this. You'll need an aftermarket switch or some home made switch for this button to work. I made a new post in the Mod category with step by step instructions. Here is the link to the tutorial...

No sound when car starts nor when it's on reverse!

On my 2013, I push this button and the sounds stops. :D It's the fat button on the center console, where the picture of the little car is. You really don't want to disable the speaker since it could throw an error code and/or disable other chimes too. What you want is to put an...

No sound when car starts nor when it's on reverse!

The VSP unit is working if the VSP light indicator on the center console-dash is off. (edit: The service manual says that the light comes on and stays on if there's a fault in the system, like for example someone disconnecting the speaker. Beware, that some cars ship disabled from the factory...

Warning: Nissan EVSE Charger Handle Issue Disables Vehicle

The charger handle breaking is likely caused by the automatic metal sliding lock actuator on the car combined with a weak plastic push lever on the handle. A confuse owner or a theft attempt could break the plastic. However, you can get away using it on a 2011 Leaf. The 2011 Leaf didn't...
