Question for people who got their battery replaced (Regen)

I have a MY2011 with 100K+ miles on it. It's down to 8 capacity bars and pretty soon I won't be able to complete my 1 way commute on a full charge. It's time for me to take action. I'm considering a battery replacement and I have a question for those who got a new battery in their LEAFs: I...

2013 SL with 21k miles range

First, how many "capacity" bars does your car have? Those are the skinny bars on the right side of the larger charge level bars. Are all 12 still up or are you missing some at the top? With 54 miles range at full charge it sound to me like you might be missing some. Next, how fast do you drive...

    Charging two cars

What you are asking for is a "dual connector" EVSE with some smarts to only charge one car at the time. To the best of my knowledge this does not exist today. IF it was to exist, I'd be willing to bet that the extra cost of having a dedicated 240V-40A circuit for a basic separate EVSE would be...

    Outside 240V 50A Code Questions

If you're going to get it inspected then you'll need to get a permit first and that would be a good time to ask this question. But it's a good idea to do your homework first as the permit department people will ask to describe what you're planning in doing. If you're nice and they feel that you...

Do I need the 6.6 kW Charger or can I get away with Base S?

I would put 6.6kW charger above the QC. For convenience mainly but if money's the deciding factor: charging twice faster will save you money when using many public stations. They bill by the time spent plugged in, not by the actual energy. If I had it I'd be saving $500/year.

    Transmission coupling

Don't go there for service. If really have to, make sure the tech won't try to clean your injectors.

Commercial Charging Units for a Hospital

    - Go with the most reliable equipment. Based on my anecdotal experience ChargePoint seem to be the best. As the equipment owner, you don't want to have to deal with frustrated EV drivers. - Don't mix and match. Network chargers such as ChargePoint can be configured to be public or private, free...

One of the range bars only has 1-2 miles on it

My 10th bar is also noticeably weaker than my other bars. Noticed it after I lost my first bar.

    Motorcycle as a range extender

Sounds like a recipe for getting stuck in the middle of nowhere with a dead LEAF and a broken bike. Even if you're able to get the bike to push the LEAF, a 1000 miles is a long way. Chances that something's going to break are way too high. Follow Gerry's last advice: rent a U-Haul and a trailer.

    100 Mile Club, 200 km, 300 km, 200 Mile Club (24kWh LEAF)

A yellow turtle icon lights up on the dashboard. Speed and power are limited. You can't miss it.

    Leaf pack swap requires reflash?

I believe that exposure to high temperature is what makes those packs lose capacity the most. With almost 70K over 3 1/2 years I've only lost one bar. I wonder how many bars are left on the LEAF that passed the 100K a few weeks ago.

    2 out of 2 quick-chargers down, 75-mile tow home.

Agreed on all counts. A couple of weeks ago I had to make 5 stops to finally find a DCQC in Redwood City that was working. Better endind for me but what a lot of unnecessary stress. What we need is a centralized system that would keep track all DCQC status in real time along with a reservation...

Abysmal state of the Blink QC in San Francisco peninsula

Indeed, I think that the fact that the Evernote QC is in a covered structure, away from the street and protected from the sun seem to help. Still, yesterday the right side touchscreen of this unit was dead. Does the QC that the LEAF's GPS map shows at the intersection of Douglas and Broadway in...

Abysmal state of the Blink QC in San Francisco peninsula

Yesterday, I had to unexpectedly leave work early and had to use the fast charge to make it to my appointment. It was a "do or die" situation. With half a dozen QC stations on the LEAF's GPS map along the way - 3 of them I had used at least once before - I felt confident it was going to be easy...
