I finally put down my deposit for a model 3. I'm not sure what that'll mean, but given my 'need' timeline is about 12 to 24 months , I figure getting 'in line' now might be about right...
That being said, I think I'm liking the 'car' part of the new leaf better, but I like the battery and...
My driving records haven't updated for years... No great loss, I guess. I suppose I had planned to use the service to understand my long term efficiency trends.
I just got through a week of 100% charges (needed to make daily 'longer' trips) and I really noticed the lack of regen going down the approx. 1mile hill from my house. So, count me glad to have the 80% option...
after my TCU update in Febuary, my remote access is sporadic at best. I also still get TCU related codes. occasionally, I'll also get the 'EV system warning' light. That goes out when I cycle power (but I suspect the code that triggered the light remains in the system).
My 12V battery is weak...
I'm watching this thread. I'm on two weeks with my TCU upgrade working very occasionally.
has your LEAF been throwing codes? maybe lighting up the EV warning light on first start after overnight charging? (that's what mine is doing..)
I found the purchase charge on my credit card. My walmart sourced battery is just under 20 months old. After a 30min rest it measured 11.86v. I'll check it again, but my hopes aren't high for this battery.
Small update. My car sends me status emails as of today. I didn't do anything new- not sure if anything was done on the server (Nissan) end.
Of course, at last check I had a new code: p30fd 0048 hv battery total voltage monitor switch evb-93
I'm going to see if it lights the ev system...
I had my TCU updated on my 2012 LEAF on 2/10. it seemed to work until 2/13 -then stopped.
I will also note they did the P3227 update (or whatever the chargebar 'battery warranty' update is...) at the same time.
I'm also seeing the car light up the EV warning light each morning after...
I got mine upgraded. it worked for 1 day. now it doesn't. It's throwing codes related to the TCU (and the 'EV system' warning light is turning on after overnight charging...).
I'm going back to the dealer to try to resolve.
A -2F morning here in NH with a non-functioning CARWINGS precondition feature made the loss of the 2G network real for me... I'm with redhat... I'm a bit anxious spending $199 for a 3G module with no mention of service fees. I'm OK with the 'co pay' as a onetime fee if the connectivity service...
I bought mine in Jan 2012 for full MSRP : about $38000 before tax credits etc., so with tax and optimistic rounding, $30k.
I knew exactly what I was getting. It certainly beat spending about $10k to convert a car to get less capability.
Is it annoying Nissan cut 6k from the MSRP the next...
