I have no choice but to continue driving the car. I think it's fine once I get out of our driveway, but it is very frustrating that I have had it in to the dealer twice and they can't find the problem
Thanks for your replies. I'm on Vancouver Island. We've had a mild winter, not even any frost and the car is in a garage. We do use the E brake when the car is sitting. I've tried without it and get the same noise. I'll try standing beside the car while my wife backs it out.
As I...
Our 2013 SL is garage kept. It has about 25k miles.
Most mornings when I back it out of the garage there is a loud clunk, clunk, clunk from the back of the car. Loud. And occasionally a metallic grinding like a worn out brake pad. It never does it the rest of the day.
I have had the car...
My wife and I would like to take a couple of friends on a country drive we have done before. By adding the weight of two additional passengers ( approx. 350 pounds) how noticeably will this extra weight effect our range ? Any guesses ?
I just had a look at your spreadsheet and you have done some serious planning. I have no idea if it works. I hope you do post your trip journal as it would be so useful for others.
As I suggested, I think you might get some really good feedback on the Victoria Leaf Club forum. Worth trying.
Sorry I can't help with the Hope charger but I must say you are really brave to drive Vancouver to Nelson. Perhaps you could post a recap of your adventure once you get home ?
You might try posting your question on the Victoria Leaf forum as someone may know about Hope. Good luck.
I read on the Victoria Leaf Club forum that BC Hydro will be installing a quick charger in downtown Qualicum Beach. This is great news as it makes the Nanaimo to Courtenay stretch easy to do.
On arriving home we automatically plug in the Leaf. This of course is convenient. Now I just read in our manual that it is better for the battery to let it cool before charging which requires going back out to the garage.
Is letting the battery "cool down" before charging important ?
Actually I had no illusions about travelling 160 km, only that I have heard others suggest that on a full charge they have normally around 160 km on the GOM. I realize that it's not what I will be able to drive but if starting at 160 vs starting at 145, one would assume you would have more...
OK , being a newbie I don't know what you mean by SOC. My concern is that the GOM right from day one has maxed out at 149 kms or less and I thought it would be 160 + kms.
