    Annual battery check

Since this check probably does not serve any real purpose, wonder if there are any 3rd party companies selling warranty for Leaf? Given that Leaf requires very little maintenance in general it might even be cheaper.

Gid Vs SOC and Cell Balance Issue

Maybe, but I hear funny stories from people here that say how SOH keeps changing. Some say 91% reading jumped to 99% after balancing and quick charging. Also in my case I can't really confirm any actual capacity loss, car goes quite happily 150km on single charge and I'm not sure it has ever...

Gid Vs SOC and Cell Balance Issue

Speaking of which, does anyone know how the SOH is calculated exactly? My pack seems to give delta of 6mV after balancing and overall stays looking very nice under all conditions. Yet the SOH is reading is 87% and I'm not sure I see any considerable difference in range to new. Car is 2012 SL...

    The Battery Replacement Thread

I would guess they offer an upgrade for Leaf 1 when Leaf 2 is on the market. Selling upgrade packs now for older Leafs could potentially kill the sales of new cars. That, and the price of the upgrade has to come down some more (otherwise it's a pointless offering).

    P3180 on battery

Yes no other codes whatsoever. I did cell balancing after which all voltages are near perfect (currently 3.753 / 3.759 / 3.765), removed the 12V battery for a while and reset the DTC. At least the code cleared, let's hope it does not come back :-) When that happened it was connected to cheap...

    P3180 on battery

Hi, Last Friday my Leaf (Nov 2012, almost the last leaf from Japan) just reported DTC P3180 after plugging it in. When the code showed up car refused to charge, but replugging solved everything and since then car has been working perfectly. However, the DTC remains. There are no other DTCs in...

    Lizard Pack Holding Up

Why do I get the feeling that Nissan has engineered this battery to degrade just right to keep the service business going...

    New, Used, 2016 or wait?

My choice: cheap 12 SL (one bar loser). Great way to wait for 200+ mile generation. Interestingly enough, this one bar loser manages my 83 mile round trip commute without issues in -10C weather, heat on and everything (yes, I can charge at work) with 20miles to spare at both ends.

Driving tips and concern re efficiency

I also got one 2012 SL 'one bar loser' for my 42mi one way commute in Finland. I have the possibility to charge at work @ 230V/16A, so I have been assuming that the range is not an issue for the commute. For the previous two weeks Leaf has been managing fine with around 3 bars (and 20mi/32km)...
