My concern hasn't been the maps so much as the location of the charging stations on the maps. My understanding is that they get updated all the time and the car downloads the updates frequently. But on a recent trip to Eugene, Ore, I noticed that there was a DCQC listed on the recargo site out...
Progressive is giving me about $70/mo which appears to be typical. My problem is that they can't seem to figure out who makes a Leaf. They have sent me 5 insurance cards so far and none of the car descriptions have been correct. They have sent out cards for a 2011 Datsun Leaf, a 2001 Datsun...
I brought my car home from Rairdon Nissan in Auburn, Washington on 4/14/2011. The out of the door purchase price was $33.6 K. I'd put this into the spreadsheet but for some reason, the URL is being abbreviated by the forum software (with an elipsis ... replacing the middle) so I can't get to...
I have intended to buy all along but the car isn't due until April so I'm having way too much time think about this question. A previous poster mentioned the anticipated increases in battery technology. Plus the fact that Nissan decided to go with a dinky 3.3 kw on-board charger which will...
My wife bought a Chevy Trailblazer with cloth (synthetic) seats back in 2002 and I get a hefty static shock every time I get out of the car. So it really has nothing to do with the fact the Leaf is an EV and everything to do with the material of the car seats.
I have learned to simply touch my...
Seattle (Ballard), I was initially turned down, but after a home inspection I was approved. I was offered a free Supply station. All of this happened early last August (2010).
So on the 13th of January (just five days ago) I was in the Nissan Chat room asking about charging rates and I was sent this response:
Hillary:
While we cannot speak to the Focus model, we are constantly trying to improve our vehicle's and customer satisfaction. The 2011 model year specifics...
I think a couple of bad assumptions are being made here:
1) That we will only find Level 2 charging at our homes and
2) That we will only plug in at home overnight.
Both are not true. Private companies are already putting up level 2 charging stations. There will probably be more of these...

This was all news to me the other day. I even got on to chat with Nissan yesterday and they are still talking about Level 2 (high) charging being capable of 6.6 kW and 4 hours to recharge. This even though Nissan has clearly indicated that is not a current option. They also told me not to...
