Dysfunctional “Charge Timer only at home” setting

Has else anyone on this thread noticed that this problem has disappeared? I've tried reproducing it on several occasions recently and did not succeed. Is it possible that Nissan updated the charging software wirelessly? Paul

Dysfunctional “Charge Timer only at home” setting

Joe -- I've heard nothing from Nissan about this, but I have not contacted then directly. Perhaps someone else on the thread has contacted them. You can remedy this by pressing the "cancel timer" button next to the "open charge port" button, then close the door and leave it closed during the...

Dysfunctional “Charge Timer only at home” setting

All -- I find this really interesting, and I am making a 150 mile trip Sunday, so more information is good. Now what? Do we convey this information to Nissan and see what they say? Thanks for helping, Paul

Dysfunctional “Charge Timer only at home” setting

Gerry/NotATesla -- I reproduced the "shuts off if you open the door" problem today. However, mine also shuts off if you leave the doors shut and let it charge for a while. Have either of you tried that experiment? Leave the doors closed for 30 minutes or so when not at home and see if it...

Dysfunctional “Charge Timer only at home” setting

Gerry -- Yes the timers work as expected at home, regardless of the "home only" setting. I only experience bad behavior away when away from home. Please let me know Nissan's reaction. They told me to take it to a dealer for diagnosis, which I feel would be a waste of time, no? Paul

Dysfunctional “Charge Timer only at home” setting

Gerry -- Thanks for posting this. It seems like your experience is similar to mine; I sidestep the problem by pushing the "Immediate Charge" button rather than by shutting the timers off. Is there some way to make Nissan aware of this problem, or are we merely trees falling in the forest with...

Dysfunctional “Charge Timer only at home” setting

Gerry -- Please try using the timer override button at your shop. That's what works for me, despite the fact that I have "charge timer only at home" turned on. Paul

Dysfunctional “Charge Timer only at home” setting

Thanks for writing; I have a question. Is your workshop at your home or away? If the workshop is away from your home, then it sounds EXACTLY like the behavior I'm observing. I have now been able to reproduce it on four different level 2 chargers in three states, so I don't think it is an EVSE issue.

Dysfunctional “Charge Timer only at home” setting

Hahaha! Yes, of course I registered my home location through the Navigation System! Otherwise this discussion would be silly, no?

Dysfunctional “Charge Timer only at home” setting

Yeah. The odd thing is that it does start charging immediately, but it stops abruptly a minute or two later. It happened again this morning away from home, and I used the Nissan App on my cell phone to push the timer cancel button remotely. Very weird. Thanks for writing.

Dysfunctional “Charge Timer only at home” setting

I use the two charge timers with my 2019 Nissan Leaf SV Plus. They are set up so that the charge is complete at a certain time each morning. In conjunction with the timers, I have turned on the “Charge Timer only at Home” feature. Last week, I arrived at a distant location (Straudsburg, PA)...
