Isn't the missing antenna just for cellular? (definitely could be wrong on this) If the OP doesn't need the soon to disappear 3G connection.... Maybe just "clean up" what's remaining for appearances sake.

With my 2015 SL, the 12V battery warning light is present when car is in the "On" mode and goes out when in the "Ready" mode. Never paid any attention to that before, just kinda assumed it was a POST sort of thing.

You'll need to verify that you have the 3G version of the hardware that communicates with the Nissan servers. This used to be a free upgrade, don't know if that still applies. I had some issues getting my used '15 SL upgraded and properly connected. I would suggest you contact Nissan customer...

^^ This. I just bumped the total number of participants to 38 and I'm curious why more people haven't joined in. This project just seems like such a good match for this technically oriented community of Leaf pilots. So I'll ask... anyone care to share why they choose not to participate?

Given the close proximity of the receptacle to the panel, the cost for materials/labor would be nearly identical for any common 240V configuration. Going with a 50A circuit gives one the most options for current needs, as well as the future. Maybe not the only sensible thing to do, but what are...
