What Nissan has effectively just done is signaled the end of the first gen 24kwh Leaf. Price increase on a battery that should be decreasing in price. A price tag that is as high or higher than the value of the older cars. Any plans I had of replacing the battery on my car when it needs...
The entry level price point for the Leaf or any EV needs to be competitive with petrol vehicles without a tax break or subsidy. Entry level and mid tier level EV vehicles need to be affordable. Most of these vehicles are driving local town/city miles so they could keep battery capacity...
Wow, and I thought they had it out for my car... Holy smokes... I don't know what sets people off like this. All I know is that for some reason out of all the vehicles I have owned in my lifetime none have gotten so much negative attention as the Leaf has. I have never seen anything like...
I can only assume you are right that the car stands out as unusual, I am parking in an unusual place, my car is a brighter color being blue so it is noticeable, and some people are just spiteful no matter what. That is all I can think it can be at this point. I am glad to hear this is not...
It is just kind of crazy because I have pretty much always parked out in the boonies and didn't have this happen before with other vehicles I have owned. So it led me to the conclusion that maybe there is something that people don't like about this car that compels them to do something like...
Well the people that appear to be "attacking" my car are far from economically advantaged considering they are driving something that they don't mind slamming into the side of another car. So I don't know if that is any indication of any political slant or if they would even be aware of the EV...
Thanks for the replies everyone. I live in a decent sized city so there are other EV's here including Leaf's. My local Domino's uses Leaf's for delivery vehicles. But not so many that someone would mistake my car for someone else. Now that you mention it I don't know that I have noticed...
I live in Colorado. I have never had an issue before either that I can recall. So I find this very odd that I am having this issue with the Leaf. The fact that the people that are doing this are going out of there way to park out in boonies just to park next to my car is equally strange...
Ever since I purchased my Leaf I have had the most infuriating and odd thing happen when I drive my car. I always park out in the middle of nowhere in the parking lot at my local stores. That way people stay away from my car, easier to park, and I can certainly use the exercise. I have not...
People have been having this issue for over a year now? Nissan at one point has told some owners engineers have looked at this and a fix is coming... And here we sit with no fix and dead batteries.
I would like to know what recourse owners who have had the upgrade and have dead batteries can...
Sadly I think we were told the same thing last year about Nissan having engineers look at this and acknowledging a problem. Sounded like they were going to get a fix out relatively soon.... We still wait. This is absolutely horrible response from Nissan. They have damage customers vehicles...
