    EVSE Upgrade.com

I believe the following PDF of the 2017 NEC is allowed/OK to use (since it is NOT the current 2020 edition, and my understanding is old versions lose their full copyright protection once a new version is published): https://www.tooltexas.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/2017-NEC-Code-2.pdf For...

    EVSE Upgrade.com

The current Level 1/Level 2 EVSE supplied with the US Nissan Leaf fully complies with the current NEC, I believe. Do ANY of the "EVSE Upgrade" Nissan EVSEs similarly fully comply? Does anyone want to discuss the "pros and cons" of the safety aspects of NEC compliance for EVSEs?

Update on Nissan LEAF Battery Replacement

Yes, without question if total cost is $8,000.00 -- but NOT a penny more! But I'll be happy/satisfied with my 24kWh recently for $6405.18 (which includes $582.59 TN sales tax)...

    40 kw-hr battery in 2016 leaf

Initially I assumed the OP had a 24kWh pack from the post details, but I was probably wrong. When Calileaf wrote s/he had an SE s/he probably meant not an S but either an SV or SL, both of which had 30kWh battery packs (the S had a 24kWh pack). These battery packs have 8 yr/100,000 mile...

    40 kw-hr battery in 2016 leaf

CaliLeaf: What are all the part nos of parts used for your battery pack replacement? That should be very revealing. For example, a 40kWh pack even requires a different set of covers than the 24kWh pack, I think. They should have provided this information on your invoice.

has anyone actually paid for an out of warranty battery replacement

To all with high quotes: Try again but this time ask specifically for battery pack 295B0-9RB9E (w/o CW) or 295B0-9RB9D (w/ CW), which ever is appropriate for your Leaf.

What to do when Wall outlet is installed upside down

If it is the stiff AWG 6 wiring it could be difficult if the box is on the "small" side and the receptacle is on the "large" side and the excess wiring in the box is too little (or too much even). Some 14-50R receptacle designs are good heavy duty quality, but can be harder to install or harder...

    Battery Upgrades are very possible

Dala: I was under the mistaken impression that the only re-wiring necessary was under the dash -- away from high voltage. If I recall correctly the dash rewiring is only for the 2011-12 Leafs -- please say if that is not correct.

    Battery Upgrades are very possible

mux: My main objection was the external placement of the bridge device as opposed to internally under the dash, if I'm understanding the image correctly, so firstly there is much more concern about adequate protection from weather. Also secondly the "average Leaf owner" (i.e. not living near...

    Battery Upgrades are very possible

nlspace: I'm suggesting that he needs to work on providing a lot more detail (atogether with pros and cons analysis) if he wants people like myself to even begin considering this particular bridge approach to upgrading.

    Battery Upgrades are very possible

Dala: What kind of impression do you think your previous post is likely to make on the average Leaf owner who is thinking about some kind of battery pack upgrade -- positive or negative?

What size Breaker at the Box should i use for a Plus Model Leaf?

I can say that I have successfully charged a 2011 Leaf multiple times using a 2018 Nissan EVSE plugged into a 14-50R outlet on a dedicated 50a circuit protected by a 50a GFCI breaker without the breaker tripping even once. I believe most outlets will allow you to return a GFCI breaker within a...

has anyone actually paid for an out of warranty battery replacement

I think the original 2011-12 non-CW battery pack part no (what I replaced) is 295B0-3NA7A and the current price for that part is typical of that at NissanPartsDeal.com which is $7691.00 vs their 295B0-9RB9E (what was my replacement) price which is $4739.82 (although my dealer only charged...

has anyone actually paid for an out of warranty battery replacement

DrR: When it recently became necessary to frequently charge twice (or more) daily and there were local destinations that I could barely get there and back, it was clear that I needed a battery pack replacement -- and 24kWh has been sufficient for at least 8 years. Battery capacity bars were now...
