Possible dirty or bent contacts on EVSE plug?

I used isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs to clean the contacts on the Leaf charger port and the plug - after disconnecting the EVSE from AC power. It has worked perfectly, as usual, since then.

Possible dirty or bent contacts on EVSE plug?

I have used OEM EVSE to charge my 2012 Leaf daily for 3 years, first on 120v and then 240v with EVSEupgrade. I've had a couple of Faults which corrected by unplugging the AC and re-plugging, and otherwise smooth sailing. The plug has seemed to have a bit of binding as I plug and unplug it during...

    NC Leaf Orders

There are two L2 charging stations at Central Carolina Community College, Pittsboro campus, downtown Pittsboro. I haven't seen these on any charging station locator maps thus far. They are convenient to Hiway 64 and 15-501.

    Charging timer day question

And I began charging on Thursday evening, finished on Friday morning. Thursday timer set to 100%, Friday timer set to 80%. It stopped at 80%. Therefore, at least when timers are set to start and stop at 12.00 AM, the target day is the day it finishes, rather than the day it begins.

    Charging timer day question

I did the test as described above, except starting on Wednesday (set for 80%) and ending on Thursday (set for 100%). The answer is: 100%, the setting for Thursday, the day charging ended. I will repeat with my charging timer set for 12 PM to 12 PM, to see if that affects the result.

    Charging timer day question

Suppose I have my charging timer set to start at 12 AM and end at 12 AM, charge continuously. I have set the timers to charge to 80% on Monday through Friday and 100% on Saturday and Sunday. I'm at 50% charge when I plug it into my L1 EVSE at 10 PM on Friday night. Will it charge to 80% (the...

My 9 month Stats : Trip m/kWh & Estimated Range

evnow, that's a super way to present the data. What are the bucket ranges, i.e., does the bucket labeled 100 encompass 96 to 105, or 91 to 100? If those trips were on single charges, you must have been returning to base with almost nothing left in the "tank" for 100 miles and up trips...

A craptastic NPR story on electric cars

Just listened to the interview with Carlos Ghosn on All Things Considered. He was able to give a much more positive (and, I'd say, balanced) point of view than the unfortunate slam job that happened this morning. I plan to give feedback and offer to be interviewed, and suggest that we all do so.

Congrats, nlagnew! Very exciting. I've been in touch with Duke University Facilities Management. On the http://www.plugshare.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; site, there is an entry for a CHAdeMO station on the Duke campus. However, the Duke person told me that all charging...

    LEAF to Home

DeaneG, you're quite right that, under current conditions, the economics wouldn't make sense. However, we're on the frontier here, and much will change over the next few years. Less expensive batteries, more expensive conventional energy from fossil fuels. The amazing downward trend in PV prices...

    My Leaf replaces...

2002 Honda Odyssey has been my ride for almost 10 years - 150,000 miles of excellent service and very convenient for hauling all kinds of stuff around (musical instruments, sports equipment, DIY supplies). I hope to extend its life another 6-10 years as the highway car (about 20% of my driving)...
