    Brakes Fail upon Powering On

An update on the vehicle is they still have it. They called the day it went in and said they updated the firmware again. I asked what the difference was between fridays firnware upgrade and this new one. He said that they are instructed to put this new fireware on if the other one doesnt work...

    Brakes Fail upon Powering On

Ok, makes sense, seems like the best fix would be for Nissan to properly charge the aux battery when the vehicle is ON. Not sure if that's what the fix was supposed to do or what the deal was but I guess in the meantime I will be topping up the battery occasionally with a separate charger. We...

    Brakes Fail upon Powering On

Update, they took my leaf away to be looked at. Hope to see it again soon. On the side, my wife and I contacted transport Canada and filed a complaint because of the potential danger this problem has. Normally, when you file something with the government it goes into a black hole never to be...

    Brakes Fail upon Powering On

I was surprised to find out they even have a regular lead acid battery in them. I figured they would just use a solid state buck switcher to get any other voltage they needed at whatever power level they needed, which is what I guess they must have in order to charge the lead acid battery but...

    Brakes Fail upon Powering On

I have come to understand this vehicle does work like ICE vehicles. It does some things in peculiar ways. This not providing a full charge to the aux battery that is responsible for the prime safety feature of the vehicle is really quite dumb in my mind. We will see what they come up with.

    Brakes Fail upon Powering On

I checked the car aux battery again, this time I left the meter on "min" setting and booted the vehicle up. I ran it through some forward and reversing operations with the original problem still existing. Turned the vehicle off and had a look at the meter and found the min voltage to be 12.15...

    Brakes Fail upon Powering On

My 2015 S just had the same problems as mentioned above in numerous other posts. I would not expect it to be a battery problem since the vehicle is only 2 months old. Just last Friday I had the recall performed on the vehicle the same as the person above. It is not that cold here, in fact warmer...

    2015 S not charging at 6.6kW

Sorry about being delinquent on the replying. I have done a bit more testing and have figured out a couple of things. I measured the voltage to my house with minimal load and found 238.5 Vac. Once I had the leaf back home, I plugged it in and forced it to charge starting at 27%. I measured the...

    2015 S not charging at 6.6kW

I was under the impression the EVSE was basically just a glorified contactor that receives a signal from the car to close the contactor when requested. I didnt think it had the ability to regulate current flow, i thought it was the on board chargers responsibility to regulate current flow. The...

    2015 S not charging at 6.6kW

Yes, sorry. These charge numbers are using leaf spy and is the sum of the charge into the battery as well as any aux power being drawn by other devices. So it would be the total supplied by the EVSE. As far as voltage goes, i havent measured at my house but i can assume it is 240VAC since i...

    2015 S not charging at 6.6kW

Hi all, A couple weeks ago i had a problem with my leaf charging system. The vehicle with the exclamation mark showed up on the dash and i was unable to charge with a few different chargers. That went away the same day and the vehicle has been fine ever since. I took the vehicle in today to...

Easy Climate Control Fan-Only Solution - 5 cents, 5 mins

Ok good to know, sorry for you guys with the 2011/12 models. So I gave it a try with it being 43 F (7 C) outside according to leafspy. Initially the car was maybe a few degrees C warmer in the car. I ran it in fan only mode on defrost, leafspy said it was only drawing 400W from the battery and...

Easy Climate Control Fan-Only Solution - 5 cents, 5 mins

Hey everyone, am I wrong to believe this thread is about running the fan only in defrost mode while the car is running? If that is the case then I can say that my 2015 S model will do that with no modifications. Simply have the climate control off, then adjust fan speed with the dial. This puts...
