    Post Your Battery Degradation Results

I lost my 4th Capacity bar this morning... 104,071 Miles in 4 years 3 months. When it's in the 30s or below I get about 30 miles range. I'm looking for a new car. I'll miss the first year and a half of my LEAF

    Battery Temp

During the summer I see 6 bars all day long in Tennessee and in the winter I've been down to 2 bars in the morning. I made a 200 mile round trip on Monday when the high was 94 degrees. 3 QCs after leaving the house with a full charge. Mostly highway miles, and I only saw 7 bars. I kinda...

So, owners what range are you getting ?

Level 1 doesn't supply all the power that the heater needs, so some has to come from the battery. Level 2 would do it.

So, owners what range are you getting ?

Temp makes a big difference. Also, I live in Tennessee & when I go to Nashville I get a lot farther before charging than I do on the return trip. Did a little research and realized that my home is at a higher elevation, so I'm going down hill leaving and up hill on my return trip. It makes a...

So, owners what range are you getting ?

If I have at least 30 minutes to preheat the car, I find that (most of the time) it's back up to where I started by the time I leave.

So, owners what range are you getting ?

Yep, all that's normal for really cold weather. Slow down, drive in Eco, cycle heat on & off to keep your windshield clear. Range will more than double when you get to 70° f Hang in there

So, owners what range are you getting ?

2012 SL w/ 60,500 miles Last week I had 3 bars left in the morning when I finished my morning commute of 35 miles (dropping off 3 kids to school and going to work) Full charge gets me about 210 gids in the morning, preheat car, use some heat, but don't blast it (it was 12 deg outside), 20...

    100 Mile Club, 200 km, 300 km, 200 Mile Club (24kWh LEAF)

Good job a month in. I was still flooring it at all the traffic lights to feel the smooth/quiet EV acceleration that early on. Man, I wish I could still get 100 miles + when averaging 5.1 miles/kWh

    Considering buying used but.....

You won't gain capacity bars, so you must have miscounted. Wow, great price!

    2 Years In

I've considered the replacement battery, but I'm afraid I'd be in the same boat 2 years later & I'd really like to have the 6kWh charger & heatpump heater. I'm trying to hang on long enough to get a newer model with those options. I have a great dealer in Nashville, they have my info and are...

    2 Years In

@mkjaykumar - I meant, you can lease a LEAF from Nissan, they take the $7500 off the price and then you immediately turn around and buy the car out of lease. I've seen several people on the forum over the last couple years say they've done this. When I purchased my car I didn't realize how the...

    2 Years In

Well, today's my 2 year anniversary with my 2012 LEAF SL & it's as unseasonably cold as the first day I bought it! My experience... I notice I'm over the thrill of flooring it and getting the smooth acceleration that was the extreme thrill of the LEAF for the first year or so. I have a longer...

Nissan LEAF for 70-mile commute (140 miles roundtrip)

I drive from 75 to 100 miles/day in my 2012 LEAF with 52,000 miles. Unless you don't mind adding an hour (each way) to your commute & you want to fully bet on all the chargers working every time you need them (they won't)... Don't do it. I charge about 2 hours during the day to make it...
