    2015: Battery Data Report @ 100% Charge

I've been reading through this thread (very educational and entertaining!) and I think it's important to point out that the values displayed by apps like Leaf Spy were reverse engineered from the raw byte stream on the LEAF's EV-CAN bus by an impressive group of engineers on this forum. While...

    Grabby Brakes?

I definitely noticed the grabby brakes on my 2011 but the problem seems to be gone in the 2016.

    2016 30 kWh Battery data

On my commute today I recorded the kWh remaining value from Leaf Spy each time I lost a charge bar and I was surprised to see how linear it was: Avail kWh after 100% charge: 28.1 lost 1st bar: 25.6 (-2.5) lost 2nd bar: 23.3 (-2.3) lost 3rd bar: 20.9 (-2.4) lost 4th bar: 18.8 (-2.1) Average is...

    Capacity vs Hx (Health)

Can someone please explain what SOH is? Is it a raw value from the CAN bus, or is it derived somehow? Is it the same as what was referred to as Capacity/CAP earlier in this thread, and if so, what was the rationale for renaming it SOH? How does it relate to the ratio of Ah(now)/Ah(new) and the...

    2016 30kWh LEAF: First Impressions

Yeah, I admit I am a victim of my own impulsiveness. I wasn't even planning on buying but I went to the dealer because of the rebates they have added since the new year and I was seduced by the 30kWh pack

    Discharge below 50%?

Is the buffer on the top end big enough to not worry about charging to "100%" on a regular basis?

    Discharge below 50%?

The 2016 model does not have the option to limit charging to 80%, which I miss. As an experiment last night, I set the end timer to 10am with no start time, but when I checked it at 8:30 this morning it was already at 100% (started at 50%). I checked my TED (power monitor for my house which has...

For a 5 year old LEAF with a battery at EoL?

    Discharge below 50%?

What's the conventional wisdom on deep-cycling the battery for long term health? I moved up from a 2011 with 3 bars gone to a 2016 30kWh and now I'm finding that I'm getting home with 50-60% SoC remaining. Should I be concerned about not dropping below 50% on a regular basis? Should I consider...

    2016 30kWh LEAF: First Impressions

It was $27k out the door, and I still have $10k in rebates/credits coming (CA + FED).

    2016 30kWh LEAF: First Impressions

I've only driven a 2011 and a 2016, so I can't comment on that, but I did notice that I get one ball of regen (and the associated braking force) even when SoC is 100%.

    2016 30kWh LEAF: First Impressions

It's not that cold this week, so I haven't tried the heater yet. I've gotten used to driving my 2011 without the heater in the winter, so the heated steering wheel and seats in the 2016 are probably good enough for me here in Northern California.

    2016 30kWh LEAF: First Impressions

The dealer gave me $3,500, which was the same price I got from kbb.com.
