Just back to this forum after a while and am totally shocked to see so many 30kwh packs with such high degradation. All things being equal, these packs should have degraded at a rate 20% slower than their 24kwh counterparts because they cycle through less frequently for the same mileage. It now...
So here's a reading from mine today (2015 S) with 53K on the car and it now being 3.5 years old (based on MFG date).
Reading taken at 100% charge
261 Gids
20.23 kwh
97.22% SOC

Hey Dave,

So here we are about a year after my initial post above and my numbers aren't...
Most recent numbers from my 2015 S. MFG 4/14 (3 years old now). Purchased in 8/14. Currently 47K miles.
267 Gids
20.69 kwh
85.58 SOH
86.33 HX
56.70 Air

Feeling pretty good about the numbers for the mileage and age of the car. About a 9% drop in real world range.
That seems fairly normal for your car. You may want to check the mfg date on the inside of your door panel to see how old the pack truly is. Also if you take a reading after doing a few consecutive drives below 50% and back up to 100%, you may get a more accurate measure. All in all you don't...
Looking at those numbers, you should lose a bar any second. Judging by the kWh and ah, you should have lost it already. My guess would be that Nissan is taking into account a certain variable at the bar loss and knows that the battery will have seasonal temperature fluctuations. They want to...
New day. New reading. Actually ticking up a bit since last time. 2015 S, mfg 4/14, about 42K miles.
266 GIDS
20.61 kwh
97.19 % SOC
85.40% SOH
86.08% HX
56.59 Ahr
Not too shabby for a pack that will be three years old in a couple months.
Thanks everyone. I'm hoping to get a few thousand more out of the stock tires, but we have a baby due in May, so I am definitely going to replace them soon. Just not a safe situation. I dropped my costco membership since we never used it much. May need to look into it again though. Tirerack was...
Ok so, I've managed to get 42K miles out of my stock Ecopia tires, but think that I'll need to bite the bullet and replace them in the next few months. I don't want to mess with my range (as it decrease it any) so I'm going to be sticking with the Ecopia tires. Tirerack has three different...
Stats been tracking mostly the same the past few weeks. Seems like they've settled into winter weather.
41K miles. 2015 S mfg 4/14
259 GIDS
20.07 kwh
97.25% SOC
83.18% SOH
83.03% HX
55.11 Ahr
64.9 degrees
This is about 11% degradation from new, so I think I'll be fine through the winter...
You might have gotten lucky. I think the 292 is only a number derived from Lizard packs. Either way, your pack is holding up well and your climate probably has a lot to do with it. Just got a 259 reading on mine today.
I have a 2015 model that was built in 4/14 and it has the lizard pack. As far as I know all 2015 models have it. They only made 2014 cars for about half a year so there's not a ton on them. I doubt that any 2014 cars have lizard packs.
Ok, I think I cracked this bar loss stat thing on 2015 Lizard cars. Let's put ourselves in Nissan's mindset... The first 2011 leaf was a 24kwh car and started with 281 GIDS. They based the initial range estimate off of that capacity. Due to the 80% charge setting, they had to put it at 74 mi...
Here's my battery bar loss predication numbers for 2015 MY cars.
2011/12/early13 cars start with 66.5 Ahr and 281 GIDs
late2013/2014 cars start with 67.36 Ahr and 284 GIDs
2015 cars theoretically start with 69.24 if you base that on the max 292 GIDs, although I don't see any posts about cars...
