    Increase in number of Bars

I own a 2012 Leaf with 82,000 KM on it, this week I charged it 2x on my Level one 15 amp 120 volt charger plugged into my solar system and when I counted the bars I had 14 bars of storage that was a increase of 1. I have never had 14 bars. Any Ideas, is this a good thing? Is something wrong?

    53kw CATL Upgrade on 2013 Leaf S

I am talking about" no brake and no accelerator" pedal application? I am still a licensed Electrician and whenever I programed a frequency drive to run I never had it run when the power was turned on. the motor only sped up when the speed was increased on the control (accelerator).

    53kw CATL Upgrade on 2013 Leaf S

I cannot find a thread on this subject I am bringing up, and I am not sure how to start another thread. Here is my question, why does my 2012 Leaf move as soon as I put it in "gear"? Should it not be in complete stop mode until the accelerator is pushed? Can I adjust the accelerator to 0 speed?

    53kw CATL Upgrade on 2013 Leaf S

So this my be a dumb question but have you tried to charge the car only on level one slow charger for an extended length of time, so that the battery cells do not overheat.

    53kw CATL Upgrade on 2013 Leaf S

I read that Simon Andre EV's ( https://ve.simonandre.ca/ )in Quebec Canada had some problems like this but they said they had to reprogram the computer because it still thought it had the original battery

Does ECO mode really reduce HVAC power consumption? What about the stealth "partial recirc?"

Eco Mode on my 2012 leaf reduces my tork by about 10 percent so I believe it actually drops the voltage supplied to the motor

    53kw CATL Upgrade on 2013 Leaf S

Thanks for this info. I would like to see the Dc/ to DC (360 volt to 12 volt )convertor be one that went both ways. So that one could hook up extra 12 volt batteries to the DC to Dc converter and increase the capacity of the traction battery without having to remove it and install a bigger one.

    Leaf 2016 wont start.

I corrected that comment, to 2 sets in parallel of 2 in series (4 resistors) making 80 watts, but it did not work because there was not enough physical room to do this. So I now have 3 extra 33 ohm 40 watt resistors. So if any body needs spares?

Opened the traction battery and found the Pre-charge resistor was bad. What caused it to fail?

First I would make sure your 12 volt system is up to charge with a external charger or jump start the 12 volt battery with another car and try to start again.

    The battery replacement/buyback thread.

Simon Andre EV's does battery replacements and upgrades, but the last time I checked there was a 3 year waiting list. Neutral with a dead 12v

And if you want to keep it in neutral with the dead battery do not turn it off (once in neutral) and pull the negative off the 12 volt battery that way the car will not put itself in park again.

2019 Nissan Leaf SV Battery Dead 40,000 miles

I normally have the charger Timer go off then back on about 1 hour before I leave. Then just in case I go out and unplug the charger cord from the car and back in which resets it.

2019 Nissan Leaf SV Battery Dead 40,000 miles

My 2012 Leaf manual says that the 12 volt battery is charged by the traction battery charger only when it is plugged into the charger or when driving. But does not charge the 12 volt battery when in the accessory mode

2019 Nissan Leaf SV Battery Dead 40,000 miles

In the cold it is wise to keep the Leaf plugged in all the time because when the charger is plugged in t also charges the 12 volt battery
