CarPlay by definition is USB only, it's the same on ALL vehicles. What you describe are Apple issues, not Nissan Leaf.
We have three CarPlay equipped vehicles, and they all function the same (Nissan Leaf, Ford F250, VW Golf) .
Maybe try Android Auto.
Seems like lots of Leaf haters and battery worry-worts on this forum. I find it hard to believe that the Leaf can't handle Florida heat if you are not fast-charging.
Where is the evidence to back up telling this guy not to buy?
My Wife and I have put about 500 miles on our 2018 Leaf SL so far, doing around-town errands but mostly on a 40 miles (each way) commute in NJ. It's been in the 90s this past week, and the car is black so the A/C is working hard! I drive fast, often setting the ProPilot at 75mph. We do lose some...
I'm actually thinking of getting the OpenEVSE kit, and using it with the stock Nissan EVSE KJ1772 cord.
Or just get a JuiceBox and sell the Nissan EVSE.
Since I have 208v at my shop, I am thinking of getting a OpenEVSE kit and taking the Nissan's EVSE J1772 cord to round it out (Nissan EVSE won't work on 208). Thoughts?
For those following along, the status lights are as follows:
Ready (green) = ON
Power (Orange) = Flashing
Fault (Red) = ON
According to the manual, it is an EVSE internal fault. The car does charge for about 15 seconds before going into fault mode.
Confirmed - it does not work on 208. I does not work on my buck/boost transformer either, which is down to 225v right now as every air conditioner in the complex is on, and so are our shop power tools.
Looks like it's either a JuiceBox or Clipper Creek for me.
Yikes... just purchased a new 2018 SL and have 208 3-phase at my shop where I intend to charge. Will know soon if my induced charger doesn't work, I certainly hope it does.
Other option is a "Buck-Boost transformer" that turns the 208 into 230 - we have one installed for our table saw.
Will...
Hi All:
I just purchased and drove home a 2018 SL with Tech Package, black-on-black. I beat the dealership up and got them to include free oil changes for life!! This car replaces a beloved VW TDI with a manual, I've gone from three pedals down to one!
Very impressed with the car...
