LEAF Over 50,000 Miles in Colorado

Piggy-backing on your post, I just went over 30,000 miles on my 2013 Leaf. I live in Colorado and have yet to lose a bar. Zero maintenance other than rotating the tires, which I will replace prior to this winter. There has been a small, but noticeable loss in range. Not an issue as my commute...

26,000 miles and still at 12 bars with 2015 S

I'm at 25,000 miles in my 2013 and still all 12 bars.

What's the thing you hate most about your Leaf?

I own my 2013 S Leaf. Dislikes: Windshield fluid doesn't spray top half of windshield. Windshield fogs up easily in winter and the defrost is poor. Interface with I-Pod is touchy. Erratic steering wheel heater. Doors don't automatically unlock in park and I have to fumble for the tiny unlock...

    Colorado - 2013 Tax Credit

Just o confirm, we did receive the full CO State Credit for our 2013 Leaf within a few weeks of submitting the additional docs. Again, not sure why we had to reach out first to find out why the hold-up. Good news, between state and federal credits, fuel, and maintenance savings the actual cost...

    Colorado - 2013 Tax Credit

Wife spoke with someone and they confirmed that we were put on hold because they needed the bill of sale and registration. That's fine, but when exactly were they planning to let us in on the secret? We'll submit the documents tomorrow and should get the refund shortly thereafter. Thanks again...

    Colorado - 2013 Tax Credit

Yeah, we received the full federal credit within a week or two. We filed the CO return online as well. We check the status online and that's where it said to check back if you don't receive your refund by the end of the week. Unclear if we are just in a long line or have been singled out for...

    Colorado - 2013 Tax Credit

Anybody else who purchased a 2013 Leaf in Colorado still waiting on the state tax credit/refund? Tax website says to wait till the end of this week and then call if you still haven't received your refund. Seems excessive to have to wait four months for a refund/credit. Just curious if others...

Electric drive vehicle credit 8936 decreased/rejected by IRS

FWIW, wife and filed using Turbo Tax an received the full $7,500 federal credit to our bank account within two weeks of filing. We did not provide any additional documentation, beyond what was requested by Turbo Tax. Suppose we could always be audited down the line, but no complaints right now.

    Access to Colorado HOV Lanes

Thanks for the replies. I was afraid that the HOV deal was worked out before EVs were really on the scene. Nothing personal against hydbrid drivers, but is it really still neccessary to incentivize people to buy hybrid cars? To be effective, the incentives should transitioned to the...

    Access to Colorado HOV Lanes

Thought I saw or read somewhere a while back that EVs could access HOV lanes without having two or more passengers. When I searched today, the only thing I found was language stating that 2,000 hybrids have been granted permits to use the HOV lanes and there is awaiting list to get one of...

Can you double check my math? - Lease or Buy in Colorado

I live in Colorado and applied similar logic to purchase a S Leaf in April of this year. Like you said, if you are committed to long term ownership (6 - 8 yrs) and can meet your needs with 70 percent battery capacity, then I think buying is a good option. By my math, my purchase price of...

2013 Colorado Tax Credit Guidance Doc Released

I think you are reading that correctly. I found the document late last night and skimmed it quickly. Still a good deal. Wish Nissan had included the charger package in the base mode S though. That's equipment directly related to the functionality of the electric vehicle, unlike a Bose speakers...

2013 Colorado Tax Credit Guidance Doc Released

Colorado has released the new guidance doc for calculating tax credits under the Innovative Motor Vehicle and Alternative Fuel program. Gone is the comparable vehicle price difference based calculation for 2013. For purchases, its a straight up calculation that uses the MSRP as the starting...

    Math behind leasing vs buying

I purchased 2013 Leaf S with charge package for roughly $30,000 using a Friends and Family discount ($1,000). State and Federal tax credits should total at least $12,000. That brings the starting price to $18,000. If I save $1,200/yr on gas and maintenance for the 8 years of anticipated...

    Happy New Owner

Agree with this sentiment completely. Always better to under sell and over deliver. I was expecting and would have been satisfied with the EPA range of 75. Having the Leaf far exceed that EPA range (with efficient driving) is some very nice gravy.
