Re: WSJ -"Why Repairing Your EV Is So Expensive"

The article is a bit misleading. Since Tesla is a dominant manufacturer that does not go out of its way to supply replacement parts to independent shops, a lot of the excessive cost and long repair time is related to their monopoly. The Rivian repair cost was high due to being so new that replacemen...

Re: steady beeping while driving, no warning lights

You can download the owner manual (and many other publications) from the Nissan Publications web site: https://www.nissan-techinfo.com/Home.aspx I am not aware of anything with the car that will beep at a low volume and get louder. I suggest that you check throughout the car to make sure something t...

Re: Charging issue one beep no lights

Somedude wrote: Sat Dec 02, 2023 5:13 pm Was anybody able to figure out this issue? When you plug in the charger, it beeps but there are no lights. Also confirmed that the evse works, onboard charger works, and that the charge timers are off.
How do you know the onboard charger works? Does the car charge at other L2 charging stations?

Re: electric vehicles are less reliable than other cars and trucks, Consumer Reports

FWIW, all three of my LEAF's have been very reliable. I have had to clear DTC's with LEAF Spy Pro once in a while due to public charger communication errors and 12V battery issues (deep discharge due to something left on and failures of the OEM batteries after about 2 years of use). These CAN Bus co...

Resistance of sensor itself should be stable, but loose connection will cause unstable readings at HVAC controller.

Re: Tyres

I put 215/55R17 tires on my 2015 for the last set and have been using 215/55R17 tires on my 2019. They fit OK on both cars, but I don't know if 215/60R17 would clear the inside of the fenders under full suspension compression or during sharp turns. I do know that the 215/55R17 tires reduce the fende...

Re: Charge cable failure

It should be noted that the Nissan OEM charging cable is covered by the EV system warranty for 5 years or 60,000 miles in the USA. If it is not under warranty, then get a quality 240-volt unit for home and a portable 120-volt unit to keep in the car.

Re: 2015 Leaf has ABS Issues.

Clearing codes may very well eliminate your issue. You may need to clear codes, disconnect/reconnect 12V battery, clear codes, and repeat the sequence 2 or 3 times to get all errors cleared. If the issue comes back right away, then the intelligent brake controller is probably failing. I had that iss...

Re: Hello...might become Leaf owner...but need help.

I had a 2015 SL. Its battery was much much better than the 2011 in my hot desert climate. It was down to 8 capacity bars when I traded it after 4-1/2 years and over 80,000 miles (roughly 130,000 km). It was down to about 45 miles (around 70 or 75 km) of range with normal air conditioning use by the ...

Re: Will Nissan honor a new battery cell 2018 Nissan Leaf with 101,000 ( five years old)

Your 2018 Nissan Leaf battery will consistently last between 3 to 5 years, but that can vary heavily depending on weather conditions battery size, type of battery, and driving habits. This statement is pessimistic and misleading. Only one battery size and type was available in 2018 LEAF's delivered...
