Re: charging infrastructure supporting NACS

I guess I don't understand your point. Seventy-five miles is a trivial distance for any modern EV when traveling long distance, assuming that it is in the direction one wants to go. My point is that I might not even be going in the direction of the next Tesla stations- not everyone travels the same...

The Tesla slim NACS plug compared to a bulky CSS is night and day better. The Tesla slim NACS will do L1, L2 or DC L3

Re: OEM charge cable compatibility

Hi all. New member here from Lansing, Michigan. I'm sorry if these are repeated questions but I could not find them in a search. I need a new portable charge cable for my 2018 Leaf SV and only have 110/120V outlet availability. From Nissan, the part model number for this trim level is 296M1-5SA0A a...

Re: Got call from dealer today.

You have bought more cars in ~5 years than I have bought in my life ! Not sure what (or when) I would replace my Leaf with...but I've come to the conclusion that it probably won't be another Nissan. Their EV leadership ended when they fired Ghosn. I’m up to 66 new cars since 1970, but only one wife...

Got call from dealer today.

Earlier this year I was in the market for a used Leaf Plus below $25k so it would qualify for EV tax credit. I was looking for a car for my wife for local trips since she was familiar with the leaf. Dealers weren’t moving from listed prices and were adding up to $3k in market adjustment. Later I rea...

Re: The battery replacement/buyback thread.

Well I thought I had a winning lottery ticket when I qualified for a battery warranty claim. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and got a case number. The next day I brought the car to a local Nissan dealer who said they had done a few battery replacements and estimated a 2 month wait. I kept the car...

Re: The battery replacement/buyback thread.

^^ That is a very good point Lefty, although I was talking about replacement packs. Perhaps Nissan thinks that people with buyback cash will then buy another Nissan EV. I know that I would not I font think they have spare replacement packs in stock for older Leafs. Being they fail within warranty t...

Re: The battery replacement/buyback thread.

I'm surprised that Nissan prefers to pay the better part of $20k rather than supply a replacement battery and pay for installation. If batteries were readily available they would be installing them instead of buying the car back. It seems that the buy back offer is following the state lemon law gui...

Re: Tesla to J1772 Adaptor

. I have 10,000 miles of free super charging with the purchase so why not? For one, because high kW charging is harder on the battery than L2 charging. I view ^^ that sort of thing as pennywise, but time and pound foolish. It also has the potential to delay EVs that are on road trips if you take up...
