Re: TSLA corporate outlook

This is what happens when one of the two major political parties in a society spends decade after decade after decade appealing to the greed and selfishness of both people and businesses. You get low taxes, little or no sense of community or personal responsibility (and with cults like the NRA and ...

Re: TSLA corporate outlook

They currently have what, about a 30% gross margin per vehicle? More? - and yet they think they need an even higher gross margin ? Where is that stated or implied in the Elon email ? All I read was Elon taking steps to reduce fixed costs heading into a presumed recession. I just stated it. Why woul...

Re: The 62kWh Battery Topic

I've got an odd problem. My 22 Leaf SV+ has one weak cell. At full charge it is 70-75mv lower than the other cells. As I deplete the battery, the gap narrows. At 20% or less charge it is only 25mv low compared to the other cells. I've taken the battery down as low as 6-8% and then recharged it over...

Re: Nissan LEAF Push Pins

I had a similar problem with the front under cowling in my '16. In my case, the holes had deformed or broken, Self tapping screws and fender washers solved the problem. I found Amazon to be a good source for push pins and sometimes they even include a removal tool.

Re: 240 outlet for 2022 leaf EVSE question

Good rule of thumb is the inverter should be able to handle 85-90% of the rated capacity. Check out this analysis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvN6s1EpdS8 There is a presumption here that the extra DC wattage is 2.5 - 3 $/watt. I was thinking more along the lines of $0.5/watt I figure about $1/w...

Re: 240 outlet for 2022 leaf EVSE question

290w inverters on 440w panels will cause a lot of clipping. I wouldn't use anything higher than about 330-350w panels in that case. Best not to generalize. There is some clipping, but you get more power in the morning and afternoon. The choice depends on the marginal cost compared to marginal gener...

Re: 240 outlet for 2022 leaf EVSE question

Enphase IQ7+ micro-inverters claim to support up to 440W panels with a max output power or 290VA. I don't know exactly how that matches with high output panels though. The Enphase monitoring hardware and software is not required to use the system AFAIK, but if you pay for the micro-inverters it is ...

Re: 240 outlet for 2022 leaf EVSE question

If you are ground mounting, you really don't want to run multiple 600VDC lines back to an inverter at the house Not my setup, but I am curious why you say this. Extreme DC in an underground conduit. I worry enough about someone or something cutting or chewing into a 240VAC line. 600V would fry anyt...

Re: 240 outlet for 2022 leaf EVSE question

The trunk lines do converge at a breaker box on the PV mount. Each trunk line goes into a separate junction box and is connected from there to 12g wire which goes into the breaker box mounted on the PV structure. There is a 40A master breaker and 3 20A breakers, one for each string. From there the ...
