i Key System Failure - How to Manually put Leaf in Neutral? - Check 12v Battery

Could you get a jump from another car in the garage with some jump leads. Obviously be very careful to get the polarity correct at both ends. Otherwise one of those small lithium jump packs may be enough to get it started. Once in ready mode it will charge the 12v from the traction battery.

    2012 Leaf Charging Issues

Dala had exactly the same fault codes you have, as shown in his video here :- His vehicle did charge ok with Chademo though.

How To Tow Very Dead 2012 Leaf?

Try selling it as " Spares or repair " on something like eBay. I'm pretty sure you will find someone who will be willing to part with a few $$ & come & take it away.

2011 Nissan leaf won’t charge or start

Your first fault code reports Key Fob Miss Registration. If the car doesn't recognize the key I wouldn't expect it to start. It might be that the key fob battery is flat. Have you tried pushing the start button with the end of the key which should still work in this way with a flat fob battery.

    Charge Time Screen

Have a look at this thread https://mynissanleaf.com/threads/question-about-leaf-240v-evse-charger.29887/#post-650011, post #19. You can set the charge rate to whatever you want within the existing parameters of the Leaf OBC which should be around 1.4kw to 6.6kw. Just change the resistance...

Leaf 30kwh 2017, any opinion on those graphs?

Keep an eye on that 12v battery. Looking at your Leafspy screen shot it's showing only 11.68v. I would put it on a trickle charge for a day or two, then keep a close eye on the voltage over the next few weeks.

Parking sensor not sounding (2018 Teckna)

Firstly i'm assuming you are referring to the beep sound you get inside the car when reversing that changes to a continuous solid tone when really close to an object. I have a 22 reg N Connector & thought it would be really easy to trace where the sound eminated from, far from it. As you move...

Question about Leaf 240V EVSE Charger

If you go to speakev.com & search “ variable rate charger “ there is a diagram for changing the PP to PE resistor in the charging cable plug. He shows a 3 way switch that changes the resistor value, falsely telling the car a different charge cable current capacity, that obviously always needs to...

Gearing 'grinding' noise - not permanent thought...

I would also check the driveshaft intermediate bearing before condemning the reduction box. The intermediate bearing is only on one drive-shaft, but located external in part of the box casting. Just a simple ball race bearing & cheap to replace if it is the cause of the issue.

Does the traction battery charge the 12v? is it safe to leave car on the charger for a month?

" And we live hundreds of feet above the town so although we pick up a few miles on the way down, we lose much more on the way back up. " Another reason not to leave it 100% charged. While the battery is at 100% it can't absorb much regen on the way down the hill, so most of that potential...

    just curious

I really don't understand the reluctance to get Leaf Spy Pro & dongle, $50 max for both. You will then know exactly what the car thinks is wrong with itself & have a solid basis to move on in the right direction. Post the DTC list up on here, knowledgeable forum members can point you in the...

    just curious

You are really going to need the Leaf Spy Pro app on your phone together with a suitable dongle to match your phone ( search posts for the best recommendations ). The diagnostic codes it uncovers should point you / us in the right direction where the problem lies. When the guy changed the PDM...

    Using a timer to charge??

The only problem I can see is if your outlet timer switches off while the car is charging at maximum. The cars charger is designed to end a charge gracefully by ramping down the charge rate. A sudden end of charge at the wrong split second could cause damage to the cars charger electronics which...

Try disconnecting the 12v battery for 10 minutes to re-boot all the computers.

Why is e-pedal so detrimental to efficiency?

Perhaps I should have said no power is being generated rather than current flowing. I do vaguely remember from physics lessons many moons ago that you can have watt less current, when the current flowing is 90 degrees out of phase with the voltage, resulting in zero power being dissipated...

Why is e-pedal so detrimental to efficiency?

I've always been reluctant to use N when the car is rolling, although I can see the definite efficiency gains. The reason being that as far as I understand, the drive motor is a permanent magnet type, with the drive coils used as a generator when regen is being used. When the selector is in N...

Can’ put in drive, reverse or neutral my Nissan leaf 2018

"There is a plastic gear inside the locking mechanism that commonly breaks or loses teeth and causes this issue. The only solution is replacing the lock." There is a replacement gear now available through eBay for the ZE1. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256450437533 I havn't had the need to buy...

    2014 no start - error P31E1 - interlock?

You really need Leaf Spy Pro loaded on your phone, plus a dongle, depending on your phone type ie Android or Ios. You can then interrogate all the fault codes. You may even be able to delete the offending code & enable it to be driven again. Once you have all the codes it may be more obvious...

Main relay stuck on - how to diagnose?

" The car worked fine for a while after the relay replacement. (Now it has more problems, but the relays are still OK.) " The contactors you have replaced are only supposed to operate when little current is flowing in the circuit. Perhaps the ongoing problems with the car are causing the...

Main relay stuck on - how to diagnose?

A very interesting & useful post. Just goes to reinforce the absolute necessity to remove the HV disconnect before doing any work on any component of the HV system. I'm guessing that one contactor's contacts became welded together followed shortly by the second one when it had all the load to...
