Battery 17% sudden drop while driving

This is quite normal if your battery has a low Hx (<85%, see Leaf Spy results) or it's very cold and you drag a lot of energy - the BMS notices there is less energy coming from the battery pack due to high inner resitance in the cells and it reduces the estimation until the power consumption is...

    LeafSpy Dropbox access expires daily

Yeah, for me, Dropbox works or not (if not, as it does right now since the beginning of 2023, I found no way to re-configure it - maybe a reinstall?).

Leaf 30kwh 2017, any opinion on those graphs?

In this case we're STP ("stroking the pedal").

Leaf 30kwh 2017, any opinion on those graphs?

Sorry, wot is "WOT"? ;) But no, it was a little more than 2 segments (I looked at the instrument) but don't know how much that is.

Leaf 30kwh 2017, any opinion on those graphs?

Ok, and BTW it was in the region the Leaf itself reduces the charging current asymptotically to find out the 100% mark, so I guess 4.2 is quite normal to find the limit. Due to my "better" module, the BMS might have some problems with the imbalance of qualities, I don't know. Have to rely on...

Leaf 30kwh 2017, any opinion on those graphs?

Good catch - thanks a lot! The lead acid battery is 18 months old only - and the car is charging, so 11.68V ist way too low. I need to keep an eye on that one... I always do PV surplus charging, whatever the PV modules offer from 1.5 to 4.6 kW ;) Nearly no QC any more (once only in the last 2...

Leaf 30kwh 2017, any opinion on those graphs?

Want to add the "current" chart of Sep 22 2024: Hx decreased to 79,8%, and SoH to 84.6%. The car is charging at that time, so the new module (with more capacity) is not filled as much as the older ones, resulting in lower voltage.

Leaf 30kwh 2017, any opinion on those graphs?

Well the SoH is the estimated maximum capacity of the battery packs. If the Hx is the conductivity, this means the lower it is the more problems you will get when the battery is stressed by driving uphill or accelerating fast. Due to a cell swap (one module, #24), our Hx was reduced from about...

Battery percentage drops erratically on acceleration

I guess that there are some cells worse than others. Then on acceleration, these drop with the voltage more than the better ones, causing the BMS to calculate a much lower SoC (as the SoC is the position of the worst voltage between max. and min. voltage). You might want to connect the Leaf Spy...

Comparison: Why I Chose a Nissan Leaf Plus over a Tesla Model 3

That's you in the US... Here in Germany I bought the Leaf in 2018 für about 30 K€, and today I would get about 15 K€. That's the reason why we now have two cars, I will not* sell it for 15 K€, so we have the best of both worlds. A Model3 and the Leaf.

Comparison: Why I Chose a Nissan Leaf Plus over a Tesla Model 3

Hint: "Forward driving pedestrian warning noise is REALLY annoying": this can be switched off and on by a button in the car during cruise, or permanently using Leaf Spy. At least with my ZE1 2018.

Comparison: Why I Chose a Nissan Leaf Plus over a Tesla Model 3

Sorry, this is unclear for me. Did you swap the battery in the old (ZE0) or the car (to a ZE1)?

Comparison: Why I Chose a Nissan Leaf Plus over a Tesla Model 3

Oh, and I forgot: what is much worse in the Leaf is the climate control. Heats up fast, afterwards becomes colder than selected. And the ventilation is not predictable. Hard to enjoy in the winter and hot summer. In that respect, the M3 is much better - it does what I select. Might be a bug of...

Comparison: Why I Chose a Nissan Leaf Plus over a Tesla Model 3

Well I promise I need the same amount of time in the Leaf to look for the knobs (often climate control) as I need in the Tesla to control the same either using speech imput or - rarely - using the screen. I do not use the "advanced" features of the Tesla a lot, I just drive it as a car (except...

Comparison: Why I Chose a Nissan Leaf Plus over a Tesla Model 3

May I add my 2cts as I have both: Nissan Leaf ZE1 of 2018 (> 100.000km) and the Tesla M3 from 2023 (though luckily not the current updated M3 without signal stick etc) with 10.000 km by now. The Leaf is much nicer in the city , easier to drive and with a better capacity for transporting luggage...

When is Nissan Connect Carwings Going away, i.e., 3G

Sorry, typing error... End of 3G, of course. 2G has more features for IoT as far as I know, so it's better to keep 2G and end 3G.

When is Nissan Connect Carwings Going away, i.e., 3G

Well here in Germany we are facing the end of life of 4G in summer this year I don't know about other EU countries - and Nissan still replies "we have no idea - stay tuned and be patient" when asked via support portal. At the Swiss border the situation is even funnier: Switzerland just switched...

    Nissan Connect app alternative?

Sorry, no. It's a hobby and I create these apps as I need them - and Apple is an unknown universe for me. It would more than duplicate the effort.

    Nissan Connect app alternative?

After several chargers of one certain company (EnBW in Germany) stopped the Leaf while charging, causing serious problems for me urgently seeking for reliable chargers (several times, unexpectedly having a nearly empty car after returning to it hours later) I started creating an app for...
