    Maintenance items

Not really much, just a cabin air filter, windshield wipers. EVs dont have much to do as far as regular maintenance. Maybe you could do a coolant exchange, since it is 10 years old now.

    Strange LeafSpy data

Looks like the previous owner probably charged it pretty often, literally ever 40 miles. Not really waiting for the main battery to go down much. The battery on my 2021 is at 89%SOH and has 28k miles. Yours seems pretty good compared to my Leaf.

    Great to be here!

Welcome to the forum. I love my Leaf.

    240 Volt Outlet Problem

The owners manual shows how to determine what is wrong with the charging cable. It shows what the problem is with a combination of the lights being on, off, blinking or not blinking. Like others have mentioned there is a problem with the receptacle that the electrician installed.

    Buying a 2012

It has 12 bars but only a range of 20 miles? Do you have LeafSpy so you can get a better look at the condition of the main traction battery? The whole deal just sounds weird. Doesn't seem right, but at a $1000 doesn't seem like you can go wrong if it actually drives and is in good condition.

    Looking for my first EV

One thing to consider is how you will charge it. If you don't drive much, 120V charging should be fine. It adds about 5 to 6 miles per hour to the battery. If you drive a lot then you may need to upgrade or add an outlet that will allow the higher amperage 240V charging. Search the forum. You...

Super high mileage e+ with 12 bars

The first part of the battery health gauge doesn't come off until around 15% to 20% has been lost. With what I have learned after buying my Leaf, I wouldn't buy one in the future without LeafSpy.

    Variable Battery Charging

I have seen aftermarket chargers that allow you to change the charge rate. Don't think you can actually adjust the charge rate in the car and certainly not with the OE charger that comes with the car.

Maintenance on a Nissan Leaf lease

With that little bit of driving you will not need any maintenance on the Leaf. Of course, the Leaf does have brakes, struts, coolant, tires, etc. that would need some work at some time, but in three years you will not need any of that. Seems like the dealer is just trying to get more money out...

Today’s the day and I’m so excited

Awesome! I really enjoy my Leaf. It is in the body shop and the Toyota Corolla I have now is no fun. Too much noise.

Work Commuter Car - 2020 (or newer) Plus

If you want electric you need to buy something with a bigger battery. You will use more or less 100% of your range on each trip. You also lose about 10% to 15% in capacity when it is cold outside. Seems like even around 35 degrees you start to lose a bit. Maybe if you are willing to charge it...

i Key System Failure - How to Manually put Leaf in Neutral? - Check 12v Battery

Hopefully this will help. This is from the owners manual... If your vehicle cannot be moved because the vehicle cannot be shifted to the N (Neutral) position, please refer to the LEAF Roadside Assistance Guide which is located at www.NISSANUSA.com. Plus, check the owners manual. It states the...

Does main traction battery have any type of protection/skid plate underneath it?

What type or protection, if any, does the main traction battery have underneath it? I hit a huge piece of broken tire on the freeway. More or less the whole lower few inches of the front of the car went underneath. The only big piece was the half of plastic bumper trim. Even though that plastic...

2022 Leaf Battery Concerns in Hot Weather

I am in Phoenix. The highest I ever saw the battery temperature gauge was about 85% to the first red dot, but pretty much stayed around 80% all summer. The battery pack temperature will not change much in summer since it is a dense object. I never fast charge, only use the 120V trickle charge...

Shipped my new car across the country and right to the dealership

Welcome to the forum. 1. They probably didn't even know about the battery warranty. 2. About 150 miles.

    Rookie

Plenty to learn here. I was definitely a rookie too when I bought my 2021 Leaf. Totally an impulse buy. Really enjoying it.

$4000 tax break? Has anyone gotten it on a used Leaf?

Very true. Once I saw that dealers were giving the discount at time of purchase I saw that prices went up about $1.5k on newer used Leafs.

2023 S Lost Power While Driving

Check the car with Leaf Spy. There could be one or more DTCs, diagnostic trouble codes, that are saved in the computer. Look at the Mv, millivolt, difference between the cells. One cell being off can cause issues. Going up that hill with LeafSpy connected could probably show something being...

Initial introduction and question for members

Like others mentioned always shop around at least every two years. They get you in cheap, then raise the rates hoping you are not paying attention. My 6 month renewal on my two cars went down, about 10%. Just a standard decrease, not due to tickets or accidents coming off my driving record...
